Amazing craft show projects from free branches. Most of my craft show products are made from free tree branches. This one is an easy woodturning project. A good beginner wood turning project. This wood turning project is a mushroom toothpick holder. A great kitchen project. This scrap wood project is finished with friction polish but I used some homemade grit wax to give it a satin finish. An easy craft show project.
I hope you enjoy this new woodturning video.
Thanks for watching!

Good looking toothpick holder. I turned a bunch of mushrooms and couldn’t hardly give them away. Drilling them into toothpick holders is a great idea. May have to give that one a try. Well done!

Thanks Doug! They also work as tealight holders if you have room to drill the hole.

I don't know where Shropshire is. I'm in the US on the west coast. Best advice I can give is check Facebook for craft shows in your area. You can get a lot of info from those groups. Good luck!

I have enjoyed all of the projects that I have watched, and have used many of your ideas for my own projects for craft fairs. One question, on other projects you have used some thing covered by yellow paper, it seems to be a solid of some sort, been wondering what it might be. Also glad to see on previous projects you have made your self some handles for your burning wire.

Thank you! Ya I put those handles off to long. I'm not sure what you mean by the yellow paper?? How have those projects done at your craft shows?

Are you using dry wood? If so, how do you assure no checking? And if the wood isn't dry, aren't you worried that your lovely project mind get distorted or crack as the wood loses moisture? I have a project in mind that would work well with some tree branches I have lying around. But I don't want to see something that is going to be a mess in a year due to drying issues. is there a secret?

This wood was green. I finished it for video purposes. If you notice part way thru the video it looks wobbly. That's because it sat over night and moved a little bit. If you're turning green wood, you can rough turn it. Then pack it in the wood shavings to let it dry slowly to prevent cracking. It takes a while. Probably at least a few months to dry enough to not crack. That's why I have a lot of dry wood on hand. That way I can make projects now to sell and let the others dry. It's a tedious process but it is what it is. You can't rush nature. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!
