That was a great lesson and it will help my game a lot being I am now a captain of a league. I've been playing all my life and am always looking to get better. My problem is that I'm a great shot(by eye), but don't always leave myself well for my next shot and that messes my game up. So I googled different ways to use my cue and I saw your video. So thank you. I'm definitely going to practice these techniques
If this was actually in a competitive game whoever was shooting would go off the end rail and come back and it would be called two banks you would hit the rail a second time just before it hit the black.. also if you were smart you would hit the end rail with a tiny bit of inside English to straighten the ball out before it came down to contact second rail and then contact the black..
This shot looks hard ..it’s actually very easy…once you make it the first time..this is a shot you should know if you want to play competitive pool.. I just have to add the dude that’s making the shot has exceptionally good eyes he’s making the shot the hardest way it can be made for that I give him full props… but like in my post I go off the end rail and come back two banks/rails in the corner….peace
Great video! A touch of Top English would have gotten you closer to the ball when combined with left or right spin because it would lengthen the rebound off of the rail.
Neither am I but I think practice is the dumb down version. Key is knowing where to hit the cue ball, how hard to hit it, and actually hitting that spot.
Dupree’s Diamond Blues is an old Grateful Dead song check it out if you haven’t heard it - the song references jelly roll will drive you so mad - in pool jelly roll means lucky miss
hey. i like your presentation style. I got good enough with cuts and leaves that now I'm ready for bank shots and other tough shots like you showed here. thank you for the education.
Having snooker roots really helped me play pool though pool has its own challenges :) going back to snooker though, damn it's tough! I'll stick with pool 🙂
Nice 👍🏼 it’s the hardest game out there. Many Pool players like to say that they just need to get used to it, and that they could get 50s and over easy if they did. The reality is that they can’t- there is no shortcut, and if there is - it’s talent, not hard work. I know lots of dedicated players that work all day at it, and still don’t get the big breaks, where some people come and can just pot balls without too much work. It sucks.
Yeah this is super true. Snooker is a totally different planet to pool, and there is a reason pro snooker players can compete at pool but not vice versa. Potts is the exception, but he was actually a snooker player first (then found pool easier I guess 😉).
