I see some colour spots on the side of the teflon paper which touches the t-shrts. Is that normal, or is my iron on a setting which is too hot, am I pressing too hard, or is the ink not dried yet? I iron alongside the setting of the material of the t-shirts for 5 min. They have been drying (in a bag) for three days now.
She was supposed to coat the screen on that first stroke, then press down for the actual print on the second stoke. but other than that, the print looks ok!!!
The technique you describe is a common one and works just fine for many people. So many people have different techniques, and ultimately, you have to go with what works for you. I can accomplish most dark ink prints through a screen 160 mesh or lower in one stroke.
How easy or possible is it to do multiple color prints with this press? I would think the hot swap and tab feature would allow g For easy multiple colors as long as the preregistration is done correctly. However I have heard it's not very doable, can you clear that up please.
Sometimes you can get dried ink out if it hasn't been too long. If it's been sitting for a day or longer, I'd say you probably have to reclaim your screen with a pressure washer and try again.
If emulsion remover does take off the emulsion and you are using a pressure washer, then you might have emulsion lock. Try soaking the screen in Liquid Plumr Full Clog for a few hours. Then rinse it off and then pressure wash it. USE EYE PROTECTION please.
Always nice to know that the Merchmakr supplier demonstrates how to save reclaim, and clean screens. Valuable information for those getting started. Telling someone and showing them makes all the difference.
Once she realizes how to prep her time, layout, with the Merchmakr, she will be rocking...just doing her own labels will save her bunches of money! Great video, everybody kept it real!
Just received it...and plan to start my journey as a bona fide screen printer...my first screen exposure did not go well...any advice would be extremely helpful.
