I made this design recently from this video and I absolutely love it 😍 I changed the mica for cocoa powder and it worked like a charm. Definitely recommend making it.

This sounds wonderful. When I run the numbers in soapcalc, I get 190 water and 80 lye. Your recipe is 150 water and 67 lye. Why is there such a difference? I left the water as percent of oil weight at default 38%. Did I do something wrong?
@loriw.9653
@loriw.9653 2 дня назад
Default is for hot process soap. Cold process uses less water. Also the superfat percentage may affect the water/lye ratio. I have found Sarah's recipes to be great as written.

@SoapSchoolUK 0:44 For the distilled water can I substitute it with beer? 🍺 I would really like to add the benefits of beer to the shampoo bars. Also can I add 3 egg yolks instead of 2? How do I know how many egg yolks is too much? I am a complete novice. I have never done a shampoo bar. I suffer from a lot of hair loss. Even putting my hand through my hair I lose a lot of hair. I just want to find something that helps me not only grow my hair but make it stronger and stop all the fall out. Thank you so much for your knowledge. And sharing these wonderful videos 🩷

Lard and tallow are not the same thing at all. So if one is using tallow for this recipe instead of lard, would they use less tallow? Tallow is MUCH harder than lard. Also, can vegetable glycerine be used to make it lather?

How long can I burn it? Will it get roasted? I suppose you replace it when there is no more smell. Can we reuse the burnt salt and add essential oil for next use? Sorry for the list of questions. Thanks in advance.
@SoapSchoolUK
@SoapSchoolUK Месяц назад
The salt wont burn but will eventually stop smellung. Yu could actually re-use the salt and add more scent to it if you wanted to :)

What was the white lumpy stuff you placed in that stainless steel container? Useless video, thumbs down. If you are using sodium hydroxide in your procedure, leaving out information makes your video dangerous. Either go step by step with complete information or go home.

I am unsure which section you are referring to. I am explaining each dsection and added captions to further assist. The full recipe is included in the description too. The lye mixing is explained step by step as we show how to mix the lye with ice as part of the liquid. Is this the white lumps you refer to? If further on, it could be the coconut oil?
