My grandfather Emilo Hernandez Martinez served in the 32nd fighting in Aitape, New Guinea , Morotai, Leyte . He was wounded when his company was surrounded on a hill and he and several others volunteered to bring ammunition through jap lines in broad daylight. He made 10 trips through the jap lines but on his last run he got hit by a jap machine gunner and went down into a ditch until a rescue party arrived at night. They were stuck in jap lines until dawn when they made their way to battalion. It still blows my mind they he made it through all of that.

You should look at the epidemic of Lyme. I got it in 1990,wasn't diagnosed until 5 years later. Thank God for the family I have I don't know how I could keep going.
