They're right next to each other and share the same restaurants, nightly entertainment, and you can use either beach. If you're Preferred Club, you'll also have access to Breathless. We love the sunset views at the Wild Orchid, but other than the views, there's not much difference. The rooms are laid out exactly the same but have different decor.
We certainly liked it, as it's only a few years old, the beach is very nice, the food was good, and it's not a huge resort. Personally, we like Excellence better, but Live Aqua is a good option.
Both are great resorts! But it depends on what you're looking for. El Carmen is newer and larger, the main pool is smaller, and they have ample beach space. Punta Cana has more pool space and a nice beach as well. We like the ocean front rooms as El Carmen better, but both places are solid choices.
We personally didn't have that issue in our room, or notice it in the Fuego Suite that we toured. But I certainly can't speak for anything else. The AC turns off when you leave the room, but after you're back and the air starts circulating again, so that may be part of what others have experienced.
Great video! Any safety concerns or you felt safe while on vacation at the resort? Never been to DR and being so close to Haiti hearing mixed things when it comes to traveling there from the USA - thanks!
Thank you! We didn't have any safety concerns at all. The employees told us that the DR works very hard at keeping the people that aren't supposed to be in their country out. We would go back tomorrow!
Royal atlantis way overpriced, no elevators or escalators for family's with strollers, no freash water ((( I got back from bahamas Never again, hot like in he'll not a paradise)))))
Considering this hotel but reading bad reviews about the quality of the food at the buffet & restaurants having no AC? And the service ie wait times at the restaurants and for room service
We absolutely love the Wild Orchid, but the service definitely runs on island time. We just plan for the extra time when we go to eat. This time did seem to be the 1st time when they didn't have the AC cranked in the restaurants. The buffett food is decent for an all-inclusive, in our opinions. It's definitely a solid choice for a place to go!
It's a few minute walk from the building. If you're staying in the closest building to the beach, you can go out a ground level door (that's not well advertised) and be there pretty quickly.
@@DNDMMedia awesome thank you! Got to make up a lot of ground, was supposed to be there this morning but my flight was cancelled hours before my departure yesterday. Won’t get there now until the evening tomorrow. Would you consider it still worth it to go for about 2 and a half days?
Oh wow, l'm sorry to hear that! 2 and a half days isn't much at Atlantis, as it is a huge place. But honestly, 2 and a half days is better than 0 days!
