Im having an L5-S1 microdiscectomy in a month. Im being told that my herniation is putting pressure on both my L5 and S1 nerves. My surgeon was sure that he can relieve the pressure on the L5 nerve but will only be able to do what they can to relieve the pressure on the S1 nerve. Was yours just on the L5 nerve? Where was your leg pain?

Hey Man, I just turned 20 years old And have a l5-s1 disc herniation. I’ve had very bad pain for the last 6 months and it just doesn’t seem to get better, I’ve done every treatment I can think of except surgery and epidurals. I went from playing sports and being a very active kid to struggling to walk and stand for more than a minute. Do you think surgery would be the route to get my life back? Thanks

Epidurals are not FDA approved and banned in Europe.

This just tells me a lot about American health care!!! Even during covid Indian health care was on top of everything!! You can just walk in at any time and have a procedure!!! And one thing I noticed is that u didn't get an ultrasound and kept having endoscopies !!! I had same issue pain and nausea and first thing my doctor did was an ultrasound and they instantly knew I had gall stones and next day I walked in for surgery at 6 am and was out on discharge by evening!!!

I’m from the US. I traveled to Germany in June 2024. We went to Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl,, Kilon, Heidelberg and the people were very nice. I saw black people in the area of bases, but went to the mall and did not see any. As I went out more, we saw more brown skinned people. I felt very and there was a German who offered to assist me with the machine to pay for the bathroom. I’m considering moving there. As a brown skin person, I would feel safer in another country.

I just got back from travel to Sweden and back from England for a sailing trip and was able to carry the 55l on BA LHR-GOT, SOU-GLA, GLA-LHR. I was asked to check in the sizer every time, stuffed it in and was good to go. Backup plan was to take out and wear some gear.
