Hey I’ve just seen this vid. Fantastic. Even in 6 degree water. Many thanks. Any chance you could get someone to film you so we can learn your technique from a side view. Anyway I’m well jell of your skill. Cheers
Great flights in those conditions. What's your wet suit for this weather? Seemed like 4/3 on the sleeve? Does it hold good enough in this temperature conditions?
Grüezi in die schöne Schweiz, darf ich fragen wieso du vom Sky Wing aufs Rocket gewechselt bist? Lässt sich das besser rauspumpen bei Leichtwind? Danke und Grüße!
Hey! Nice Vid! In the mean time you obviously got a lot of experience with the fanatic sky wing boards and recently with the f-one rockets, especially in light wind conditions. I'm just thinking of getting one of those two in the 90l range. May you recommend the sky wing vs the rocket for light wind, flat water, small waves!? May the sky wing 5.4 would be more suitable for light wind and flat water whereas the rocket 5.5 would match small waves better? Or do you think there won't be a big difference? I would be grateful for every hint! Cheers, Robin
Hi robin. If you are athletic go with body weight +10l for really light wind. This way you can stand on your board in flat water and wait for a gust. The sky wing board is a bit more durable but for my taste a little too boxy in the back. A big plus for the F-one boards is the placement of the foilbox!...it is closer to the middle of the board. So in super light finds i like to ride strapless and move the mast all the way to the front - This way the board feels super short and light once you are up on foil. 😉 Hope this helps...
@@gusthunter4181 Thx a lot for your quick response!!! So you think both of the boards would suit my needs (really light wind up to 20 knots/ flatwater till max 1 m swell)? I'm 73 kg, just changing from one year of windfoiling to wingfoiling. My foiling ist quite stable and relaxed, but I didn't jibe yet. I tested a sky wing 5.2 (85l) lately and just for now it was too small for me. And do you think the foils (f one phantom 1680/ fanatic HA 1750) are comparable as well? Or do you like one more than the other? I would like go for the same brand on board + foil.
Hi! Big fan of your videos, looking to step down in board size after lerning the basics on a 110l naish hover. Can you recomend me a board will help me in my lightwind facination that i will try to explore in the coming summer.. im 70kgs out of sweden! Cheers!!!
Hi, thank you 🙂 Go for something around bodyweight + 10liters... I use 75 liters at 77kg bodyweight - I can get on foil really early but it takes more skill. With a 85 liter board i could get up a bit easier but once on foil i am more efficient with the 75liter board. Hope this helps 🤙
Hi. Great session. I will be in Cabarete in 3 weeks so looking at your video I am so jealous. What camera you used and how did you connect it to the wing. Regards Norbert
Hi, you are in for a treat...Cabarete is awsome for foiling 😁 I used the "Insta360 One X2"... Used a broomstick with a screw at the end and stuck it in my harness. Have Fun and watch the reef at low tide 🤙
Would it be a good idea for you to post a video how to attach the camera to the wing? You are already experienced in this area so you could share it with us 😊
Awesome footage! I just booked a trip to algarve in late November and hope to score wind and waves too. If you are willing to share intel on wave spots with good entry/exit, i would be grateful!
Klar. Praia da rocha wenn der swell von südwest kommt. Sines, bordeira (bei offshore) und milfontes. Die westküste ist wirklich anspruchsvoll und mit vorsicht zu geniessen.
Could you comment on the ride difference between your FONE SEVEN SEAS and FONE EAGLE? What conditions would you prefer one over the other. Thanks. Great vid.
Eagle: +Crazy speed and endless glide on the lake. -Tipps can cut your wing. Too sketchy to ride waves and jumping i think. Seven Seas: +Also great glide but easy to start and pump, nice feeling in waves, can jump too. -the only downside is that you don`t get the absolute top speed performance and not the absolute best freestyle foil... It is the perfect allrounder. 🙂
Great session! I can see you use F1 Strikes these days but IIRC you used to own Ensis 6m? I'm 75kg and on Ensis Score 4.5m and looking for light wind option. Where I live, Ensis Score 6.2 is almost half the price of F1 CWC 7. Was there a huge difference in light winds between your Ensis 6m and your current CWC 7? I'd appreciate your comments, thanks!
Hi, i would say it is personal preference. 6.2 seems like a good size. If you are 75kg and have your technique on point you do not need to go bigger than 6m i think. You get a little more power with 7 or 8 meters but you loose pumping ability and efficiency. Hope this helps.
Hello Gust Hunter, How much does it help to have a bigger / longer board to take off? I see you have F-One rocket 5.3 and Seven Seas 1400, but wouldnt it be better to have longer board with smaller foil e.g. Rocket Sup Downwind 6.2 and Eagle 1090? I am big fan of your content :). I bought myself Eagle 1090 as I watched your videos. I also have CWC 8m, but I am not sure about my board for light wind: RRD Beluga 90l. I weight 78 kg. Can you recommend me a board? Thanks :)
