They say when Bart was born he was a twin, one was good and the other was pure evil, they tried hiding the evil one but they mixed up the babies They were half wrong, as bart wasnt even a twin... Lisa was the evil twin and her twin sister the good one is somewhere out there
Sometimes it seems Bart just can't ever win when it comes to his family Marge doesn't hate rich people problem is that Marge has this image of what she WANTS Bart to be, but because he's not what she thinks he should be Marge doesn't know how to support him. Lisa does hate rich people (I don't blame her these rich people were jerks)
I feel like Marge and Lisa are worse than Homer and Bart because usually the boys don't care what people think about them Whereas Marge and Lisa try to make the family look good when reality the majority of the town is either just as bad, worse, evil, corrupt or just really judgy
I wish this show had more kick-butt moments like Chuck Norris did in the original series. He got down to business and knew himself and was confident in what he believed to be right. Jared’s character is so wushu-washy and careful. Kick-butt, Jared!
Later in the episode, when golf was legally declared a religion, Marge brought leaders of four different faiths to get support for the shut down. Yet even they didn’t see anything wrong, and the club gave them a group discount for membership.
Yes, he deserved to know. But right before a contest that he feels great about? That's just punching Bart's soul. Anytime before or after it would have been fine. But it feels like in that moment she wanted to undermine his confidence. Just bad timing by the writers.
Well put. It's a common writing trope to make this stuff happen when it's most dramatic or impactful but the timing here makes the characters look worse.
Living a lie in what sense? His teacher likely did actually believe in him as he helped her on a number of occasions and did actually pass a test and show his potential in the past when he cited a reference from a book to gain just enough points to pass. And even if it's a "lie" his success and attempts at trying to improve where not, Lisa should have supported Bart rather than go out of her way to destroy him again, and the fact that she got tension bumps and anxiety over it just proves that she is a despicable person that has worsened as a character over the years, turning into a cynical, self absorbed, egocentric, cruel and jealous person that can't stand the thought of someone else succeeding in her place, just look at the fit she threw when Bart became a Jazz drummer, she hated it to the extent that she manipulated others into being against Bart doing it and then was responsible for Barts injury that ruined that prospect for him because of her irresponsible animal care idea, and she showed zero remorse for yet again stomping her brother back into failure, and she wonders why in that one future episode Bart hated her for always overshadowing him.
Wait, hold up. Marge is always encouraging Bart to behave and be respectful, but now that he's doing just that, she's now encouraging Bart to MISbehave and be DISrespectful? Make up your f-ing mind, Marge!
