At Unicycle.com (UK) we hold the largest stock of Unicycles and Penny Farthings in the Europe. We can also deliver them directly and quickly to your door.
That's great Roger, haven't see it on beginners unicycle, you may have but I'll post a link just in case. Great timing mate, I've been working on this, you make it look so easy, like everything unicycle.
I have put it up on the Beginners Facebook group but it did not show properly, so had a few attempts to get it on there right which is why you probably missed it.
If you are interesting in doing Freestyle then you need a frame with shoulders. Beginners = Club Freestyle Unicycle, Intermediate = Nimbus II, Expert = Eclipe/Equinox www.unicycle.co.uk/unicycles/freestyle/20-club-freestyle-unicycle-with-white-tyre.html www.unicycle.co.uk/unicycles/freestyle/20-nimbus-ii-unicycle-silver.html www.unicycle.co.uk/unicycles/freestyle/20-nimbus-eclipse-pro-unicycle-silver.html www.unicycle.co.uk/unicycles/freestyle/20-nimbus-equinox-pro-unicycle-silver.html
Bicycle shops often struggle with truing unicycle wheels as their truing jigs wont fit unicycles in. They also can not supply or change the bearings as these are unicycle specific. The cranks are unicycle specific so they wont have these in stock and would need to get replacements from us. If you are not sure contact us at the store: www.unicycle.co.uk contact@unicycle.co.uk 01642 361203
I have one of the smaller Nimbus Ultimate wheels, I learned if you wear plastic shin pads, backwards(on the back of your calfs) and grease them up with any kind of lubricant, they ride so smooth with no chafing
I wonder how much there is of a difference comparing 26" to 27.5". I have a 29" at home and I'm thinking buying a 26" because I fear that 27.5" doesn't make really much of a difference 🤔 edit: I just found out that a 26" x 5" tire actually has a bigger total size than a 29" x 3" tire. Never thought about but makes sense ...
Although 26" now has limited and older style tyre choices it is still a popular size as the tyres that are available (Duro Wildlife Leopard) are fantastic tyres for unicycling. They are tolerant and compliant in a way that very few other tyres are. The size of the wheel makes the unicycle more agile and easier to handle, but only slightly in the case of the 27.5" that gains it agility due to it's lightness. I hope this helps.
I hop on my pedals all the time. I've never even considered that a hub might break. Maybe an isis but definitely not a square taper. I have been abusing square taper cranks on bicycles for over 2 decades and I have never had an issue with breakage. And yes, I hop, skip and jump quite a bit on my bicycles. I'll have to keep an eye on my isis hubs for wear!
The load on bicycles is totally different from that on unicycles. When we first started manufacturing trials unicycles we went to Onza for the cranks, they were staggered that we snapped their best trials cranks in one day. The load is a shock load and this is what breaks them.
I have a nimbus 32 and I noticed a lose spoke the other day thought I'd have it trued at the bike shop down the road. Now I know I'm just going to buy one of these handy tools.
that's a great video Roger, explains the process very well. I was getting the first type of turn wrong, I was trying to twist into the turn, rather than lead with my body and follow up with my hips.
Thank you for your comment and really please you like our videos. We have covered basic mounts before as well as some more advanced ones. Here is the video for the basic mounts: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kzbOyfy2DIw.htmlsi=l_AW2FNpyBYwUVhH
I just bought a Night Rider from Unicycle.se. I did not use any lubricant (error), and it was extremely hard to get the tyre on even with 2 levers. I rode it for 800meter (great ride) and then it got flat. Tube leaking. Now I try to take the tyre off to change the tube - 100% impossible to get any levers in between the tyre and the rim. 100% impossible to get the tyre off. Do I have to destroy the tyre to get it off? I also notice that the tube is much smaller than the tyre so I had to pump it quite alot for it to fill the tyre, is that normal?
If you go to the products on our website you will see the whole range. www.unicycle.co.uk/penny-farthing/ In each product is a charge to give you a guide: The measurements are from crotch to floor with your shoes on. 30" inseam length = 48" Penny Farthing 32" inseam length = 50" Penny Farthing 34" inseam length = 52" Penny Farthing 36" inseam length = 54" Penny Farthing These are rough guide only. If you are racing you want to go up a little in size, if you are touring or going for gentle rides you go down a size. I hope this helps.
What would the recommended hight be for riding that exact penny farthing? There’s also one that’s 50 inches UDC. What would the height of a human be good enough to ride the 50?
We give the sizes in the product descriptions: www.unicycle.co.uk/penny-farthing/48-udc-mk5-penny-farthing-black.html For general riding follow that table shown below, if you are looking at racing penny farthing consider going to the size larger. The measurements are from crotch to floor with your shoes on. 30" inseam length = 48" Penny Farthing 32" inseam length = 50" Penny Farthing 34" inseam length = 52" Penny Farthing 36" inseam length = 54" Penny Farthing These are recommended "rules of thumb" only, and not written in stone. If you are not sure give us a call and we can discuss.
@@unicycledotcomukright, we got the length all figured out and measured. Now also, in the UDC penny Farthing website, is the 50 inch, the one going for £1,945.00, would that be 2,461.63 United States Dollar? Again, wanting to make sure I got this down so when we buy we don’t miss calculate.
Quick important question hoping for an answer. So I checked the UDC 50” penny farthing on the website and it’s listed for $1,945. Last time it was $2,600. Was there a recent price change or is it how it always was? We are planning on buying one at the end of the month.
The price in the UK is £1,945 and in the USA is $2,600. Here are the respective links: www.unicycle.co.uk/penny-farthing/50-udc-mk5-penny-farthing-black.html www.unicycle.com/udc-50-mk5-penny-farthing-black-black/
Excelente explicación 👍.práctica y fácil de aprender..... y ahora me doy cuenta de que se les llama "centavo" .soy de Argentina y recién estoy conociendo el mundo de estos vehículos!! Saludos
It depends on what kind of distance you are moving them. For small distances they will fit in to most small vans although many riders use tow hitch mounts and extend them to put them on. For flying... we have a video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NZq2LZvcffA.htmlsi=ZrBDzuwiAYHxPFmc
Please, post an explanation of the method of training for throwing juggles on a bicycle I know how to throw balls and ride a bike, but on a bike I don't know how to throw juggles
We will look at this skill for a video, but first we recommend you learn to onefoot idle first. It is a core skill that will make sure that you are idling from your core and not your whole body... this leaves your arms free to juggle in control.
