I remember back in the day I would already be in an established band. But I would always sneak away and do auditions for other bands just as a challenge and this is way before social media. I was always straightforward and letting know I was only dipping my toe but it's always great as a drummer knowing others want you and just the experience of trying to lock in with people you don't know is always helpful.
Hey I was there around in 1999. My nephew bought a drum set after testing quite a few drum kit. I remember seeing a Phil Collins autograph on one of the drum kit but I didn’t see it in this video. Do you still have it? I would love to see it again. Goodluck guys
Actually yes 👍 I've thought this was the case for years. A well played in spruce top improves both in tone and patina but the speaker trick will speed up the micro fracturing needed to open up tonal development. A good set of strings helps too.........only caveat I can see is if the speaker system is to loud and actually causes struts or braces to come loose internally.
My main issue is the sound is not unique enough for the average person. It's not a distinct recording you'd notice on a song. It's more a performance instrument.
I suggest a 50/50 split of your favorite genre and songs with a TON of range. So, if you're a jazz player, be a jazz listener! No problem, right? But for the full range stuff, you could even use something like binaural beats, with very steady, prolonged, measured vibrations. Best of luck to you!
