Im glad to see this was being driven normally. A lot of Subaru reviews with the CVT have drivers flooring the accelerator when joining motorways, revs going up to the redline with the engine making far too much noise. You did it perfectly, I watched the rev counter going no higher than about 4k, at a guess, yet the car picked up speed effortlessly, no problem. Ive had three Subarus, the CVT is a great transmission and not designed for heavy acceleration. People forget it needs to catch up with engine speed, its an artform getting used to it but once you master it, all is good. I know they have reduced the power from 148bhp to 134bhp I think, but they have improved the dynamics. Quick enough for its purpose. I think it must be to do with emissions I think the reason behind it.
We won't be offered the e-boxer made by Subaru here in America. We get some toyota tech with a boxer engine here till about 2027 for hybrids, which is what it's looking like. And our EVs are Toyota Mashups as well. I was excited to see a New Gen Crosstrek that is Left Hand Drive that has the e-boxer setup. Where are you from? 😀
This review is in Sweden. The US made Subarus have more powerful engines than we get in Britain and Europe due to different emissions regulations. We have the hybrid here because it’s the only way they can keep emissions down and get a bit more power from the electric motor. We have the Outback with the 2.5 but manufacturers need to supply other cars in the range with lower emissions or they face financial penalties.

fit finish looks superb... but the front led looks like tubelight in my home... and the hyundai logo looks extremely big as if they are trying to impose ads of Hyundai and move around to show they are driving an hyundai
I havea jeep compass 4x4 limited and I love it. I done some easy to medium offroad and is easily done with the Compass. I don't expect my Compass to do extreme offroad since I don't plan for me, for that one goes to serious offroad models like the Jeep Wrangler. What's s serious off-road : if it has manual control of 4x4 modes more specifically: hi/low gear. I love my 2019 compass
I have a 2020 compass latitude , same thing I love it. Iv put it through hell for the last year or so and still really no engine issues. Of course iv broken a few features but that’s just me being dumb, and abusing the car. All in all, very fun car to drive and P.S, it sounds better when you cut off the muffler 😅😂

With the smaller rims that the lower spec version brings and proper off-road tires, this car can go anywhere just with 2wd. It has enough ground clearence, torque and power to do it.
The “racers” would NOT be ready for random obstacles (cars, pedestrians, potholes ie) and would have a higher probability of losing control and/or crashing.
