My wife, Ta, grew up in Northern Thailand, about 10 hours bus ride from Bangkok in the Province of Phayao. But she's been living in Bangkok for the past 20 years. Ta is an office supervisor and has a team of 9 people working under her. After falling madly in love with this amazing lady, I quit my job, sold everything that I owned and moved to Thailand from Sydney Australia. Thanks for the video, Brad. I’ve been going to Thailand for 20 years, never rented a car. But we will be in a place where transportation is difficult, so I will be renting a car for 10 days. This video was very helpful.
We're still very happily married. Ta's health has been bad for several years. Recently, she finally had surgery to fuse 2 sets of vertebrae in her neck. She is doing well, but it will be a lengthy recovery period. Thanks for checking up on us.
Hi. Thank you for the video. Im staying in this hotel in about 20 days for a week. Im new to Thailand so can i ask how much did you tip the man who took you to your room please? Im an Aussie and we dont usually tip so i have no idea of what ro tip there. Thank you
I’ve not tried central Bangkok but it didn’t take long around Nakhon Sawan and occasional trips to Pattaya ,(which is pretty crazy ), to realise that rule number one for survival is to realise that Thais don’t follow any rules . Once you know that vehicles will come at you from all directions , usually with no signals and often with no lights , you stand a much better chance of survival.

I found this video again after seeing it over a year ago. It is eerie how much my experience duplicates yours, from the upfront anxiety, meeting for the first time at the airport, hoping the other person would like you, staying the first night in Sukhumvit and then going on vacation and falling deeply in love. So many people have told me the relationship is high risk due to differences, but I'm hopeful and your experience lifts me up. You haven't posted in many months.
