These kits for Moen pull style valves will not work on the old style pull valves. You will need to purchase a handle extension kit. The kit comes with a brass sleeve to extend the pull handle. Otherwise, when you start tightening the the screw you will turn on the water. They do not tell you this. I heard from the Home Depot clerk that he has to send people to online or plumbing stores to purchase the handle adapter. These Danco and Moen trim kits sold will only work on the new style valves, which have a longer stem. Very frustrating. The kits range from $26.00 and up.
I know this one was done 2 years ago, and I’m happy how this helped me to understand the process. I just have a quick question: why separe those pi cês to be screwed later. I believe no need for.
Great video, I'm not sure what a lot of these comments are talking about. I learned a lot about the product and some of the basic ways it can be used. Your video was enough to sell me on this machine and I sincerely appreciate the time you took to make the content. So many folks out there are keyboard haters, but when it comes down to it, they aren't making any content nor do they ever have any type of actual constructive comments. It's like Haris calling Trump weird. Great, you think he is weird, now tell me what plans you have for our country! Nothing useful and just your basic school yard bullying crap! Thanks!
Idk why but I want a mini workshop with a mini metal lathe and mini 3 axis cnc... or just a 4 axis cnc machine as I'm getting used to CAD with 3d printing. Suggestion?
You are supposed to be reviewing the lathe not giving a course on metal turning.......keep to the title of the review.......the choice of tooling you show for the review is pathetic.

The rpm is too fast Theres barely any torque The material is made from aluminium alloyed with zinc to add weight and the stock piece you're trying to cut is steel
No indicating, no calculations on correct rom for the cutting tool, just seeming like there isn’t much precision done in the video. I’d still love to get ahold of one of these. I wonder if they make a four jaw for this
This is a really nice little review. It sounds like you are looking for a video to show you how to use it, and that sir, is not called a review. He is showing some of the basic uses and talks about how he likes it and thinks it's a good value. I learned a lot from watching this video and it was actually far more than I was looking for and enough to sell me on this product. He did a great job, and if you don't think so then I'll be on the look out for your upcoming review.
Great video!! Really helpful!! We replaced ours with this same kid probably 8 years ago and we installed the KNOB. We must have the Moentron valve that you spoke about because it DOES NOT pull out to turn on. With the KNOB installed we would turn it counter-clockwise all the way to get hot water from 1 side of our house to our master bathroom then gradually turn it slowly clockwise to make the water cooler. It has worked fine like this for 8 years. the pressure remained the same regardless of the position of the knob. We just replaced the trim kit again and elected to use the LEVER because its easier to grab. We cannot seem to be able to adjust the temp of the water now. This seems weird to us but on 1 side its HOT only and on the other side its COLD only. We feel kind of stupid now. Lol! May be we installed the wrong adaptor? We used the GRAY one that you used. Thanks!
@@Kent_N_Sophie WE used the GRAY plastic adaptor in our installation. We threw away the BLUE? one stupidly and I can't help but to wonder if we should have used the BLUE one....
@@Kent_N_Sophie I removed the LEVER that I installed when I installed the new trim kit and put the KNOB back on. NO difference in pressure or temp control. I have watched videos now on replacing the cartridge and frankly think thats my next move. Its original to our home that was built in 1998. It doesn't leak and that seems to be why most folks replace the cartridges. Ours is actually quite stiff to turn thats why I elected to install the lever. MY understanding is these valves automatically adjust the temp for instance if someone flushes a toilet close by so the person in the shower doesn't get hotter water than they want. I think ours is just plain stuck.
@@lookoutman it's fine for the few things ive done, making spacers, shortening bolts to exact length evenly, polishing some items. Custom door locks for my car and more. I don't need to do 10 items a day. If I can make 1 or 2 things now and then I'm happy. So far so good. Full tear down clean rebuild and setup to keep everything nice and tight. It's not perfect out of box. But with some tinkering you can have some decent results. Was able to make super shiney finish pass on steel and aluminum after get used to how fast and deep it prefers cut. I've only used low speeds. Seems more then fast enough for what I've done. (I'm not professional machinist just a guy who bought one and gave it a go)
The delta we have is a shower head and wand combo - the restrictor for that was hidden in the head part where it attaches to the pipe coming out of the wall. Otherwise this video was perfect walktru for us 👍
The kit shown at the right in the first 10 seconds of the video is not correct -- it is for Delta. However the link in the description to a Danco 10002 UNIVERSAL MOEN TRIM KIT is correct.
