Sima Yi. Sima Shi and Sima Zhao continued Cao Cao and Cao Pi's task of uniting the land. The later Wei era was a lot more difficult because apart from Wu and Shu the rivalry between the Cao nobility and the Sima clan made things a lot more difficult
Hearing this theme is triumphant but at what cost?....it always makes me wonder what if just maybe Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang held out longer.....how would China be different
Wouldn't have been united in the time it was. Liu Bei was little more than a glorified bandit king. Zhuge liang was a competant administrator but wasn't really a good strategician. There's a reason he launched 5 capaigns to take the north and failed to make any significant gains each time. Also, Liu Bei died LONG before zhuge liang's d e f e a t at Wu Zhang plains. It took the strength and ingenuity of the Sima clan to unite China and end the constant civil wars.
. Sima Shi deposed Emperor Cao Fang , and immediately replaced him with Cao Mao . Guanqiu Jian & Wen Qin , and other officers loyal to Cao Wei , began to raise troops in Shouchun. They started rebellion against Sima Shi.
The Shu army had defeated Wei at Wuzhang plains. The bravery and wisdom of Zhuge Liang's handpicked successor, Jiang Wei managed to overcome the cunning Sima Yi. However, Sima Yi was not content to simply fade into the suset with this defeat. And yet... Under the clear and starry night sky, Zhuge Liang believed. He believed, that even without him Shu would go on fighting Under the clear and starry night sky Zhuge Liang looked, and he saw. He saw Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, and other great souls, that had given their lives in search of peace
@@elrond501st yeah it has changed. In my opinion this game was really good when this battle royale mode was new. Everyone was so bad which made the game fun. Nowadays its really different and I don’t want to talk about it + you don’t want to hear it.
Yeah, that is funny. I'm surprised they didn't just use the full Jin roster, because there weren't that many at the time. Even now it's pretty small compared to the rest
In my opinion nothing will truly ever beat dynasty Warrior 7 the atmosphere the game play the story it was all perfect it should have ended there in my opinion
@@elrond501st fair enough I made a little fantasy setting with the Jin Clan continued with DW8 Empires conquered all of China slowly and made a character that would rival Sima Yi in intelligence Here are my characters that I still have to this day Sima Zhen Sima Ren Sima fah And Sima jaoh
@@retroblonde8075 Haha, I also made a bunch of recurring characters in all of the Empires games. Some have stuck around since DW6E, which was 13ish years ago by now. Good stuff.
The funny thing is Koei made this game with the mindset of it being the final game in the series so you're not entirely wrong on it possibly ending there.
@@elrond501st my first Dynasty warriors game is in the PSP then I bought the DW 5: Xtreme Legends then I saw Warriors Orochi 1 & 2. These games are my favorite where I max everything hahahha
Against Wei ? No chance :) Dun, Zhang Liao, Pang De, Dian Wei, Xu Zhu, Sima Yi, so many beasts with Wei. The most powerful army in Dynasty Warrior. But I like Wu too :) and his terrible Zhou tai. ⚔⚔⚔
Sima Yi has served 3 generations of the Cao family but I think he did the right think taking matters to his own hands after Cao Rui the rest of the Wei emperors were incapable of conquering the realm. The only one who resisted a lot was Cao Mao but was slain by Sima Zhao
During the later Han period, the signs of impending rebellion were everywhere. Corruption within the Imperial Court had thrown the land into chaos, and caused the people to suffer greatly. In this time of uncurtainty, the people found themselves yearning for change. Zhang Jiao, the leader of the religious sect - known as The Way of Peace - fanned the flames of rebellion and formed an army. This uprising would later come to be known as The Yellow Turban Rebellion. The threat of The Yellow Turbans loomed like a dark cloud over the Han. Sensing their impending doom, the Imperial Court raised the call for troops across the land. Among those who answered, one was determined to use the turmoil to make a name for himself. His name was Cao Cao, *The Hero of Chaos* With his numerous loyal followers, he threw himself into the battle. For within his heart burned a secret ambition, the likes of which the world had never seen.
If Sun Jian and Sun Ce lived longer the Kingdom of Wu would expand a lot Sun Quan assumed control at the age of 18 and before the battle of Chi Bi. The Kingdom of Wu has some warriors who are amazing apart from the 2 great leaders Sun Jian and Sun Ce some of them I would mention Gan Ning (used to be a powerhouse with the river sword back then) Zhou Yu (amazing elder sword) Taishi Ci (Very good damage and musou) Zhou Tai (very fast) Lu Meng and Lu Xun
I feel like Wu is often overlooked, which is a shame. It would be great if Zhou Yu and Gan Ning got their swords back because those movesets were much more fun than the staff and flail/sickle. I'd be happy if Gan Ning had his daggers from DW6, too.
@@elrond501st Wu overlooked cos' RoTK as a novel was mostly written from Shu's standpoint and from their point Wu = treacherous cowards who were hiding behind mighty river all the time and only attempted to strike when either Wei or Shu turned their back for a hit. Historically it's nowhere near to true events, BUT games are not made by historians... PS: In real history Gan Ning was quite a violent [albeit well-educated, despite how game portrais him] and unpleasant person
this soundtrack is epic. Koei should have added that as the Ending Theme/Cutscene when you dethroned the Emperor and won the Campaign in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires.
Hey I have a request. I'm doing a project and I would really appreciate it if you could make a very short compilation of the Dynasty Warriors 7 cutscenes only a couple for each of the rulers of the Three Kingdoms that best shows their political ideology and personality. I don't have the editor to do this. I will never ask for another favor again. It's related to my activist work. The nuanced debate of each of the four is really relevant politics of my country. It's America obviously. I would thank you as you have nothing to gain from this.
Interesting. I'll look into it, but there are already a handful of videos that have all of the cutscenes uploaded. It sounds like you want a more focused collection, though, which is certainly possible. The question then becomes about which characters you want. For instance, would you want all three Simas for Jin, or just Zhao? What about the Sun family - is Quan the only "real" ruler or would Jian and Ce qualify? And what of the other warlords - does it matter what (for example) Yuan Shao thinks or is he too irrelevant?
@@elrond501st Probably just Sima Zhao. And Sun Quan. Liu Bei and Cao Cao too obviously. It can't be too long. Sending it to my political allies and friends so they understand what influenced me politically. I kinda think it's a good introduction to politics on terms of philosophy, obvious not policy or realism. But what I love about DW is that it paints each side how they see themselves and others. It's a fantastic way to learn about perspective. And that's what I love about the characters. It shows the different sides in war and politics and their views both how they see themselves, and how others see them. It helps you talk to people and have respectful and productive interactions. Man no wonder I'm a Progressive. Sorry btw if our irl politics are different.
I prefer Cao Cao a lot more than Liu Bei but what is amazing about Liu Bei is that in the beginning without having any power or land of his own he would attract talented warriors like Guan Yu Zhang Fei Zhao Yun after Ma Chao Huang Zhong Wei Yan and strategists like Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong of the Invasion of Fan castle was a victory for Guan Yu then the kingdon of Wei would stand no chance against both Shu and Wu. I believe the battle of Yi ling after that gave Wei the chance to rest and recover
I see Liu Bei as very "human". He has a version, but through his journey he time & time again has to break his principles, because his vision simple cannot be fulfilled if he does not. Then the entire thing with the deaths of Guan Yu & Zhang Fei. We as humans would often loose sense of our priciple & loose sight of our goals, if something so personal & close to home happens. Many call him a hypocrite for that etc. But I just think it was a very "human" thing of him to do. If something like that happened to us to: Hearing that your brothers or siblings or just best friends, have being killed in a very visious manner, how would we react? not just as a normal indivuduel, but if had the means to fufill our need for revenge? Think the classic 2010 tv-show Three kingdoms does a BRILLIANT job of focusing on Liu Beis struggles though his journey & how it eventually breaks him down. Liu Bei is a very facinating individuel. Some also just claim, that he just said these things, but did not believe in it, but I tend to believe he did.
@@dragonblade-go6pe I can point to the tv-show "three kingdoms" from 2010, where it clearly shows its not that black & white. WU had being constantly insulted by Shu. Zhuge Liang had many times outwitted Zhou Yu(Zhou Yu is not innocent in that conflict). Guan Yu had also done it, Zhang Fei to. So the betrayal was a long time coming from many insults & disrespects etc. So yes, Sun Quan did backstab Liu Bei, but Liu Bei was a naive to think he eventually would not act.
@@Rackhark also, the land of Jing was borrowed and to be returned, Guan Yu refused. Wu didn't "betray" Shu, Shu got greedy and suffered the consequences. It's unfortunate, Shu storyline is always the most tragic but they brought it upon themselves
LIU BEI BECOME GREAT BECAUSE VERY RICH MAN, MI ZHU IN TAO QIAN TERRITORY IF NOT HIM, LIU BEI ALREADY BACK TO GONGSUN ZAN ARMY AND DIED BECAUSE YUAN SHAO ATTACK IN 199
Cao Cao the only one who was worthy to unite the land a pity that Chi Bi was a defeat China would have settled long ago there wouldn't need for 3 Kingdom period.
I like your extended epic sounds ! Thank you bro ! Dynasty Warriors are my favourite game stories ! I like the 3 kingdoms story playing. I hope they'll improve graphics in DW9E. Maybe a true 4K game or 8k for DW10 ? Lol we can dream ahahahah
I'm glad you like the videos. I also hope DW9E is good. It's on next-gen consoles, so hopefully it looks good. I can't wait for the new custom officers, that is easily my favorite part of the Empires games.
Thank you! I'm a big three Kingdoms era fan. Trying to make my own version in ROTK13. This helps me with that. What is your advice for a Cao Cao figure who rules basically Shu instead? In abilities and personality. And the overall story. Liu Bei is in Xu instead.
Hmm. I think a Liu Bei/Cao Cao hybrid is a cool mix. You've got someone with a desire to help the people that also has the ambition to get it done no matter the cost.
@@elrond501st So kinda like a tragic mix of the two? Who's a warrior king kinda? But is inevitably going to fail? I have plans for Wu's version to be a Great General who's excellent at domestic affairs but not too smart, and centralizes government sorta like Rome. I've long wanted a create your own ROTK but the only one that exists is only in Japanese dangit.
@@deiansalazar140 Something like that, yeah. Maybe he *does* succeed but it ends up costing him everything. I haven't played most of the ROTK games, but VII and XIII are great and I'm pretty sure VII lets you freely set up custom units. It's been awhile since I played it though. There's always the Dynasty/Samurai Warriors Empires games too. Not quite as detailed as ROTK or Nobunaga's Ambition, but it gets the job done.
@@elrond501st I am looking forward to DW9 Empires. I thought the voice acting wasn't THAT bad. Rotk8/7 are my favorites but they are too limiting in custom characters. I kinda want to see if they'll do a reboot of Dynasty Warriors where it follows two stories like SW5. DW6 also had meh combat but the writing and voice acting was top notch. The only issue with it's voice acting was the voices seemed a bit rushed but it had great talent.
@@deiansalazar140 I'm optimistic about 9E. Having seen the new character creation, I know that I'll like it for that if nothing else. If they were to do DW10 like they did SW5 it would be interesting to see what part of the story the would focus on. They'd have to cut the roster by a lot, which would be fine with me as long as they don't have clones again. The clones in SW5 are not bad, but it's a little disappointing to see when there are so few characters
I definitely plan on it. I've made the loops but the Jin one still doesn't work as well as I would like. And that's a shame because it's my favorite one after Wei.
self dox but i graduated in 2011 and damn i actually remember this. I remember trying to make adams in Hammer (Source Engine modding, like TF2). I remember the layout vaguely and altho its been a decade it is so accurate that it's making me remember a lot of random experiences i had here and there. Really impressive to have the interconnectors, I used to sneak in coffee in those all the time. 232 - I remember having a film class in here once but I don't remember the teacher, she was female. Probably senior year. Also lol I remember clevenger. I liked him he was so interested in his subject even tho I had no interest. Hated the "great" german teacher they had there tho she was a straight up bitch. She left the year I graduated. Psychology used to be downstairs near the cooking room, but IDK if that was AP psych or what, the room you labeled was an AP literature/senior english class. Also the philosophy class I took there was in that area too. The guy who taught it was that guy who had a heart attack in 2012. I dont remember his name. wtf I think i remember taco jesus. IDK if my friends at the time were responsible but we sat around there and I swear we talked about it. I snuck a few times into the maintence hallway and yeah its pretty much just that.
