Calories is a inaccurate failed attempt to create a unified number for the amount of energy you get from food. It's inaccurate because all they did was set the food on fire and measure the heat production which is entirely different amounts of energy released to if you digest the food with zero actual correlation... Exhibit a: shrimp have low calories yet are high in protein. But the body doesn't burn the protein it digests it which does result in actual energy from the protein itself as opposed to when you burn it which clearly doesn't produce much at all...

The side effects described in the video are exaggerated, practically nonexistent. Fructose is harmful when it is artificial, but that contained in fruit is fine; to have adverse effects one would have to eat exaggerated amounts of fruit. Moreover, of the fresh mangosteen fruit only the pulp is eaten, and not the pericarp, which contains the most beneficial substances. The real problem with mangosteen is the difficult availability for most people. I cannot get it fresh, so I use a capsule extract including the pericarp, which contains most of the powerful beneficial substances. Extract: Ideally titrated 10% α-Mangostin, or generic 10% Mangostin (max 20%). Too concentrated extracts, 40% or more, should be avoided. Expensive as well as useless juice should also be avoided. Instead, whole fruit_pericarp (not extract) capsules are also fine. The important thing is to choose respectable brands, that select raw materials well and use few or no additives.
I think the side effect most people complain about is the frequent use of the toilet. But they still love that their bowel movements gets better and more regular with the use of Moringa. So I really don’t know what the bad side could be 😅
