Vivo x100 ultra will definitely beat xiaomi 14 ultra in terms of telephoto lens sensor size but those who like Xiaomi leica color tuned will love it. Vivo is going too much on HDR which is definitely good for whoever likes it
Agree with Jermaine's comments about consistency in the camera's image. When the camera gets it right, photos look great. I just returned from my vacation & for the first time i went on the trip without my DSLR. That took a huge load off my backpack.
Nice intro indeed... Puts your video up another level😊 It will be interesting to judge the Xiaomi against the 100 ultra after your longer term assessment
At the moment Vivo X100 Ultra has a unpolished OS. Bugs in it's camera settings. Perhaps later when Vivo updates the phone to iron out all these then it's a good comparison & competition. Until then Xiaomi 14U is a much better option.
Very good Jermaine. Intro is great, I love it 😊 Also great shots ... Portraits were great and the dog picture just wow😮🙂 good work , you should be proud
Vivo is for average phone user where users expect everything comes out looking sharp & bright. Not for photographers as it can't handle dark shadows by brightening everything up to daylight.
Well described about xiaomi. It needs to work hard on their hdr rear and specially on their front cameras. They are in urgent need to patchup the potraits perameters by update. But we all know it is very slow in that case but i am sure infuture they will. But i must say even without the update currently the xiaomi cameras are leaps and bounce ahead of so called flagship samsung and apple cameras. Anyways well presented thoughts and love the intro, keep it up.
here's my tip for xiaomi. just enter the pro mode. switch to photo and setup your custom photographic style - contrast, saturation, tonality and sharpening. I reduced the contrast and sharpening and now... now I'm satisfied. Just use it and enjoy the result! by the way, you can set all other parameters on auto and basically you'll lose only the HDR... no the best HDR anyway
Loved the intro.🔥🔥 Also love the new format you did here. It indeed helps to get across your views about the 14 Ultra. It is a phone that has so many capabilities and still a lot of potential to be even better if the pain-points are addressed, so you probably wouldn't have gotten that across in your usual style (which i love too btw).
Thank you very much!!! Drawn everything out that I had in my head to then film it, which... well wasn't easy hahahaha. The tripod and position was hard to get right hahaha. And agreed, I feel like this was needed to really confey that message, so I am glad it did! Thank you!
@@ThroughJermainesLens yeah, probably isn't something to do for every video. Which isn't needed either tbh. You usually get the point across just fine, but this case was indeed special. I have the 14 Ultra as well and although I love it, something felt a little off but I couldn't quite tell what it was... I am just a photography fan and far from a Pro like you of course, but I do see the inconsistency too. And seeing this video, it all fell in place for me. Still, I hope Xiaomi is working on a serious update, I find it strange that we only had one update so far. I have the OPPO Find X7 Ultra too since March and that has gotten 8 or 9 updates so far. And huge ones too, seriously improving things.
@@pe_1980 yeah, the chinese version foes seem to have had a good amount of updates, we however... Not lol. For me being a Pro i wouldn't day that, i would still myself amateur or maybe a step above that xD And yeah i perfectly know how you feel about the 14, hard to truly describe because man when it nails it, it is so damn good
@@ThroughJermainesLens You don't have to say it, we will do that for you.😅 Well, to me you are a Pro so, compositions, editing... All are great. It is my first Xiaomi phone, so not exactly sure what to expect in terms of updates. Don't really care about updates, as long as everything works. And they don't take like 4 months or so to come.😅 For now I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, Samsung hasn't fixed its camera problems either after 4 or 5 firmware updates.
@@pe_1980 i do appreciate that! I do! And yeah the number of updates doesn't matter to me, but it needs work so no updates stand out 😅 And Samsung yeah that one is just a lot of no for me 😅
@@ThroughJermainesLens exactly in my opinion they need better sensors too. And better video as well. The fact that Xiaomi has log but Sony never imported any slog profiles into neither the 1 series or the PRO I is insane to me
As a 14 ultra user i 100% agree. Inconsistency is an issue. If it hits, it hits hard. But i hate the sleepy software updates. 1.0.11 seems to have upgrades for the camera. We are on 1.0.6
@@hubert_rutkowski do you have firmware 1.0.11? I have the CN version as well and am on firmware 1.0.09. No new updates pending for me either so idk...🤔
You got a big fan in Brazil! Amazing video, great camera review brother! ❤ I'm considering to buy Poco F6 12/512 it's about 3.100,00 Reais in here, it's about 2 to 3 minimum wage monthly payment, phones in here are getting crazy. For example, Iphone 14 Pro Max 512GB is about 9.999,00 Reais, about 7 minimum wage monthly payment.
Looking from that perspective that is a lot! I would honestly advice looking at like second hand last years flagships if you can? And of course thank you for the kind words!
@@ThroughJermainesLens Ohh I'm convinced that F6 12/512 will be a wise decision for a phone to stay with me for another 3 or 4 years. I'm 3 and half years with a M51 Samsung I'm just a bit worried about F6 front camera, taking selfies pic with that 20MP hope it'll be fine 😂
Having all of the photographs vertical doesn't really help viewing photos on RU-vid also zooming in would help a little bit. We don't need to pixelpeep but just a little bit closer would also help to see if AI is doing something weird
It is such a way of taking pictures for me because i often look at it at a point of view of photography, but I agree! I should zoom in after showing it first at it's first showing. Will attempt to improve on that!
Would've still have my 11 ultra if it didn't suddenly die. Screen went black, completely unresponsive. Had battery swapped, nothing. It's a paperweight now.
@@ThroughJermainesLens it gets warm when trying to charge it, so something is happening in there lol. Got a 14 Ultra now, the cameras are insane. With each phone I get different network issues, and the 14 has been the worst since the 10 ultra :(
