Please make a video on kissdesign interface. My 3d viewer tab is not there special tabs only sketcher is there. How to add 3D viewer special tab on this Kisssoft
@@Sanchit0312 i don’t think so, however it’s an efficiency calculation module so if you have that module u can calculate the efficiency of a planetary along with machine elements
@@kisssoftusa9363 I have some another model of planetary how do I import that model to kissys. Or I should put my model parameters in the template provided by kissys?
If it were me, I'd set up a general kisssys model and then save all of the KSD submodels, then open them in KISSsys. You'd have to make sure all of the elements were named the same though, could be a real pain. I don't think they planned on going the opposite way when designing the interface.
@@kisssoftusa9363 Thanks for the fast reply I appreciate it, one more question please, I keep getting a problem when I use contact analysis "Calculation has not been carried out, lubricant: Load stage micropitting test not known" does that mean I have to use a load spectrum to be able to see the micropitting in my gear?
@@AbedAbdo-ml7lk I think that is the lubricant doesn't have the data required for the load stage test, If you run it outside of contact analysis does it run consistent?
@@kisssoftusa9363 I can't get the micropitting data with or without contact analysis, for the load stage I didn't identify a lubricant there, there is only one stage load with 100 frequency with torque, but the simulation is consistent, there is only this problem in micropitting.

Hello Warner, I followed the steps, but with different inputs. When I pressed "calculate," the sun gear became an internal gear instead. I'm having trouble switching it back to an external gear. Could you guide me on how to make this change?
it is in the examples window on the main interface of kisssoft. If you click the view drop down make sure examples is checked. In the bottom left corner of the interface there will be a tab for examples. Should be example16 or shaft for gear pair example 06a in release 2023.
Hello Warner, I have a question here. The driving gear you are selecting here as Planet carrier (internal gear) , but you are considering the reference gear as sun gear and specifying the input torque and the speed to the sun gear itself. If the input or the driving gear is internal gear then the input torque and speed of the shaft should be applied to this and not to the sun gear.Could you please clarify about this?
if you select the double arrow of the speed definition, you will see the internal gear is by default set to zero. So if I specify the sun gear speed and torque, the input speed and torque is calculated for the carrier, I noted I didn't mention this in the video, and that video is and older version. Good question.

I am using the 2022 version of KissSoft. The option to preload the taper bearings is not in the same place as the 2016 version used in this video, and I can't find it anywhere. Is that option still available in the 2022 version?
Yes, you can still preload, select the bearing, the rolling bearing element window should open and you can see the bearing information. Make sure you have bearing stiffness selected. In the rolling bearing element window, where you specify the bearing, there is a the bearing clearance tab, you can offset the external ring in the Y direction to apply preload. (I don't know why they pulled the force window out of 2022, that's probably what you were expecting to see)
I am working in a compound planetary gear system and I have some questions. Do I need to add a load spectrum for each pair of gears? I am new using KISSsys so it may be basic but i have no idea. Another question, I have a document with the Torque, speed and their factors in each instant of time, however I dont have the frequency, is there any way to add this to a load spectrum or do i need to obtain the frequency too? Thanks in advance.
not that I am aware of, the shift force in general is based on drag forces (torque) in the complete assembly. Any amount of torque that exists between the gear and the shaft would create a shift force, in general, we say the synchros line up the splines with the same velocity to allow the shift, but I don't know that we can pull a shift force out of the software.
I just double checked with the KISSsoft development guys, and I guess you can get forces using the connection elements during a shift, similar to bearings, but you'd have to add power loss elements and specify the losses in radial and axial loads.

This is really helpful but in this video information about to provide profile shift coefficient for both Gear and worm is not available. So its request to give some additional information on above said feature for Worm and Worm wheel. That will be more useful to create exact model of worm and worm wheel.
Hello, I'm trying to analyze a shaft for strength under bending and torsion. Is there a way to define two keyways on the shaft at the same axial position, but spaced 180°? The interference fit alone cannot transmit the torque in my case.

@@kisssoftusa9363 sorry its me again, So i noticed that if you select 'consider load Spectrum' under the basic data tab in the shaft calculation, the bearing life increases So im a little bit confused why it changes because you said its enough to just select the load spectrum under the strength tab? Did i get something wrong? Please help!
@@ardit9032 are you running a load spectrum with multiple load bins? If not, you don't need to run the load spectrum, if you're running a load spectrum in the gear calc and want the run that in the shaft module, you can select consider load spectrum, then make sure all the forces have the correct load spectrum. You'll have to select the gears and/couplers in the element tree then verify the load spectrum.

There is a chain module, roller and silent chains, if you want a test license, I can provide, there are tutorials available or you can enroll in a KISSsoft course.
Depends on the car company, for small automotive, all depends on cost and mfg. process as well. If you are grinding gears you could get good sounding gears at 0.250 um, however, this is only as good as how well you define the bearings and shafts and if you are taking into account the bending as well as tolerances.
Does KISSsoft support needle sleeve bearings? Or can one import needle sleeve bearings in some way, instead of manually inputting the data from e.g. the SKF website?
Needle Sleeve bearings would have to be approximated by the caged needle I think. since we cannot know what the machined tolerances are for the inner and outer diameters are.
