I prefer the used/old look of terracotta as well…but some of the unsealed stuff can grow actual mold that we don’t need inside our homes (for sensitive people, like me ☹️).
Thanks for this video! I totally agree, I hate shorts!!! And i am enjoying the 50 so plants I have and not wanting wanting wanting, except maybe a Thai Constellation LOL. Very enjoyable video.
Excellent video!! Thank you so much for sharing this! You sound just like my daughter (Light and Mind on here), but in plant form! 😂 Yes, I got so much out of of this video!! So, so helpful!! ❤
I just had an arrowhead given to me I have it in an open concept apartment, beside my living room light, how long will it take to see new growth after I put it in new soil? your plant looks huge !!!
Your philo Jose is so impressive especially since you don’t have it growing up a pole/support. I appreciate seeing climbing aroids that still grow well without having a big ugly pole haha I also agree about brand new terracotta looking ugly but loving patina! I am too busy to plant directly into terracotta now but I use them as cover pots, because they are my favorite aesthetic.
i am quite frustrated with very small terracotta pots, because i love the look of the small ones, but they dry out sooo quickly. I recently moved my small cacti and succulents into them, hope that works better
I use to be a terracotta girlie. Love terracotta. But life has changed and now I’m an under waterer so I’m currently changing the pots I used. It makes a difference.
I am trying to only buy plants that I love. Especially those on my wishlist that were so beyond my pocketbook. For example I recently found a Thai Constellation for $40, a Milky Confetti Syngonium for $10, and philodendron Ring of Fire for $12.99. I am trying a Miniature African Violet for the third and last time, it was $3.99. There are some kinds of plants that I don't have any sucess with in my current home, such as Calethias and Orchids, so I no longer buy them. Another thing that I have realized, is that, when taken good care of, some of my plants grow huge and need a lot of space in my two bedroom apartment. As for location of plants I have to take into consideration what conditions the plant needs, plus the toxicity of the plant to my sometimes naughty cats. When I lived in a house during the pandemic, I had 250+ plants. Now I have around 75. Definitely not as overwhelming. Thank you for this video.
This was a great video. I've recently down-sized from 70 plants to about 45 plants. I definitely get what you mean about finding time for more hobbies. This is my favorite video on your channel!
My Spidey is five years old and never had a plantlet. I've let it get pot bound, changed its exposure to light, used only filtered water, but nothing. I've now split into two,, and will start again. Great vid.
I was going to ask you about the combo of terracotta and Micans but then you showed us yours haha! They do look super good with terracotta though, but mine has been drying extremely fast too, even in Thailand. I'll have to repot them now.
I LOVE the no more buying plants. I’m there💚 I have a GORGEOUS Jungle Paradise 💚💚💚❤️❤️💚❤️and I LOVE that in a buy more to make u happy world you are promoting not buying. Go girl🎉🤙🌺🌻💚
You bring it into perspective and I always question if I need another plant. But yes questions to ask myself when considering to buy another. Love the video and makes it easier when I get overwhelmed with how they are and how I struggle.
Maybe your crystalinum wants lower light as the leaf is trying to grow in the shade facing the wall and also the other leaves are like ducking/ gowing away from the Light above ⭐️
I love love LOVE this video. Not enough people talk about the fact that you really need to pot plants into a vessel that works for both the plant and the person! Great video per usual Harley!
I cut the bottoms of a plastic up that we get for example from McDonald's and use that as saucer. Qnd i use yogurt containers as pots and then just look for a nicer pot to cover it. Recycle as much as possible. I'm using a coomie jar for my micans. 😊
Oh Harli I do agree with what you said about certain pots for our plants. Sometimes when I leave my plants in the nursery pots they come in the plant does not do so great and when potted up into a pot with a drainage hole that sometimes cause problems also I guess we all just have to figure out what pot works the best for us and our plants. Thanks so much for sharing this great video, I hope you have a beautiful and blessed day, sending love and hugs, bye!!🤗💝💜💜💜
Love your video! I have a begonia that's 6 ft tall and growing. The leaves are huge and super healthy, but I'm thinking I need to get him down to a more manageable height. Crossing my fingers all goes well!
I love the terracota patina now- I'm all for character and finding rando objects to become planters. Also, I save plastic lids to use as saucers under plants. Helps with the whole ruining furniture. =)
Is that a raphidophora decursiva at 25:58? I’d love to see a plant care/styling recommendation video on that! I bought the plant recently and didn’t find a lot of good content to watch about it. Mine is crawling to the side out of the pot and very top heavy. I’ve been looking for a heavy planter to keep it in
