Moore Mafia has done a tune. They have a video where their adjustments increased peak HP from 58 to 61. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hX5mJqFytqI.html
HD ruined the look of their deflectors. They look like spoons now. Wyatt Gatling makes the original angled deflectors still sold by either J&P or D Kirk. Glad youre happy w the air part of yiur results.
Yes, easy to ride. It has smooth and predictable braking and handling. The only caution is power. It's smooth but it has a LOT of power so it can get away from you quickly if you make a mistake.
@@geecee4746 The ride modes do a good job of taming the power. I stayed in B or C mode for at least a month until I adjusted to the power. The modes make a very noticeable difference in throttle response. Mode A is wild until you're used to it.
Great video! I came from the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx and I've changed to the Suzuki GT you made the right decision. It's the better bike. It's definitely a riders bike.
Very helpful. I bought the Comie box after watching your video. I didn’t feel like drilling into the Max Mount. I just tightly added a bracket to each side and it seems pretty secure.
Im considering a Vulcan 650 and. Yamaha bolt for my first bike, first time ever, timing is finally better to fulfill a life long need. Deciding factor would be 1. Best out of Vulcan vs Bolt for first time buyer. 2. Easy to learn use 3. Reliability and maintenance costs. Any thoughts are welcomed.
A tough choice, but you can't go wrong either way. You didn't mention price as a factor, but you would find the Vulcan cheaper. Availability can often be a determining factor also.
@@slowridertv Both the Vulcan and the Bolt are in the $7000 price range, that being said a 2008 Kawasaki Mean Streak just popped up in my radar. 10k miles on the odometer, 3" long shot exhaust, hard saddle bags and extra seat. Owner asking $3500, after a long review of all things considered I'm thinking this will be a better first time bike and a keeper for some time. I'm 47 yrs 5,10 220 lbs, looking for a nice cruiser to take me on a 10 mile round trip to work and occasional joy trip.
@@rahoulloubles I had to look up the Mean Streak. That looks like a really nice option! A bit heavier, but I see a lot of people praising the excellent brakes, and it seems to get great reviews.
Nice mod, I have the windshield , 2021 , I like the windshield for the highway . I do have the link plate to attached to the max mount and storage but not big enough for my helmet.
I beg to differ, when it comes to sway bar ends. Changing them out on the 2019 Ryker 600 I recently bought upped my comfort zone on bumpy roads and curves between 5 and 10 mph. I'm currently awaiting a sway bar from Baja Ron, that I expect to improve the handling even more....
I bought my 2015 new and still love it. This assessment is spot on. Since I am more experienced now I wish it had 10 more hp but other than that I have put 5300 miles on it and have no mechanical issues with it. Change the oil every year and lube the chain every 400 miles and it's a solid bike.
Just traded in my road glide for a heritage. Had a road king before that. But with my wife pregnant with our first baby she decided she no longer will ride. Giving me the opportunity to get a smaller bike that can still go long distance if I need it to. I havent had the hertiage long but I love it so far. Never getting a giant road glide ultra again. too much bike. Great bike but just too much. I love the color of your bike. enjoy the ride!
And the fact it seems EVERYONE has a road glide or street glide these days. I rarely see a heritage or more classic looking harley anymore out riding. Back in the day you saw heritages everywhere but now the style has changed. But me I still like the old school classic look which I why I bought a 2016 heritage in teal and white 👍
I’m 6’ about 275lbs, and been thinking about getting one of these to took around on. Do you mind sharing how fast you can go on yours and if you are about my size. All I see in RU-vid are little guys riding these and I think it looks fun. 😂
Navi tops out around 50 mph on a flat road if I remember correctly, with a 150 pound rider. Loaded with 275 pounds going up hills might be kind of sketchy. I'd also worry about suspension and brakes.
LOL. Traded my HD nightster for the red one.....I put a tpx radar detector on mine.LOL and im 57 years old,but i missed the need, the need for speed so i bought me the suzuki Gt.
About an hour or two for the install. The. most difficult parts were getting everything lined up correctly, and figuring out how to get my fingers to reach upside down to install a couple of the bolts.
I recently sold my Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic and bought a BMW F750 GS. I had ridden cruisers almost my whole adult life and it was a big change but I love it. It’s given me a whole new perspective on riding. Good video and have fun on the Suzuki, especially going fast on all those private roads outside the country. Got a chuckle over that. Ride safe!
That's cool! I remember watching your videos a couple of years ago when I was considering the heritage Softail. I didn't know you had made a change to the Beemer. I'm heading to your channel now to catch up 👍
I took my first long trip on my 2022 GSX s1000 Gt +. 15 hours of riding in 2 days this past weekend. This was my first bike of the 5 I've owned with an actual windscreen. I always wear quality foam ear plugs for wind noise regardless so I thought I was safe. As the trip went on I could certainly hear and feel strong buffeting at 60mph and above right up inside the bottom of my helmet. I noticed if I shrugged my shoulders up the noise went away, but I couldn't ride like that long. I didn't think I was doing any damage to my ears at all because I had earplugs in. Boy was I wrong. Upon further research it seems you're better off not wearing earplugs if you're dealing with buffeting and turbulent air. The earplugs create a compressed pocket of air against your eardrum that is super sensitive to any turbulent vibrations in your head and neck. By time I got home my ears were ringing so bad I couldn't sleep. 3 days later I'm still ringing. It's worse in the mornings but gets better throughout the day. Hoping it subsides some over time. Anyways, lesson learned. I am seriously considering giving up riding or at least selling off this bike and go back to a naked bike or cruiser. I'd rather not spend time doing R&D trying to figure out how to stop the turbulence, switching screens, trying out gimmicky products and some downright goofy looking accessories. I treasure my hearing and I fear I've done some permanent damage unknowingly as I was wearing plugs.
Oh wow. Sorry to hear that! I imagine a different windshield would help, but it’s such a waste of money if you try a new windshield and it doesn’t work. I have the same bike as you and I installed a little cheapo clip on shield at the top. It helped a bit. You might consider that before giving up. You can adjust the clip on shield to get an angle that works best for you.
I have the same bike, same colour and absolutely love it. I did test ride the Ninja SX and preferred it but a year on I really can't fault my GT. Lovely fit and finish too.
Here is the link to the product. It has brand and sizing information. rykermod.com/products/rykermod-steering-stabilizer-damper-bracket-kit-with-jfg-racing-stabilizer
Thanks for putting out this vid.. I’ve been really wondering about it. I just started riding and have felt what ur describing before the steering damper.
Great bike, congrats and enjoy. I bought a 23 MT-10 last year, and I love it, but it is pretty aggro for true sport touring especially without wind protection. I'll keep the MT because the engine alone is worth it, but may add a mile-eater like this Suzuki.
Nah man, that can't be called a motorbike... but a damn airplane haha! I have had a Suzuki Katana 1000, until one month ago. Same engine and same chassi. What you wife said about speeding tickets, was completely right for me haha. I got a few after a year and I wanted to go back to a kind of "chill retro cruiser". So I have gotten a Bonneville T120. Reminds me of my old Sportster Roadster 1200. Comfortable, slow and strong. Great in nothing, but good in everything. However, listening to you has given me the enthusiam of having a great new bike. I guess you already know it, but your new bike is awesome. And the engine is pretty old (from the K6 Gsxr i think) which means pretty tested and reliable as hell. Suzuki is a great manufacturer. Plus, GT stands for travelling comfortable, far and, if you want, fast. At least that was the original meaning in the 80's in Europe. You sound nice and humble. I really wish you enjoy that bike for so many kilometers (or miles). Best regards from Spain!
Thanks so much for the kind comment all the way from Spain! It is definitely nice to have the performance AND relative comfort of a GT. The Bonneville is such an amazing looking bike. That might need to be my next choice if I don't calm down on this Suzuki 😇
Great video, thanks, was wondering if you first did any test rides on the Tiger before going for the Suzuki as i am currently between these two bikes ( gsxs1000gt or Tiger 900 Gt 2024). (Anyone with experience on these two bikes is welcome to throw some words or opinions) Thanx again for the nice video!
Just found ur channel.Awesome video! Thank you. You're spot on abt the throttle having no in between! Can you please shed light on the gear to speed relation for this bike? I see you accelerating to 60mph in 3rd! Or to 40mph in 4th. How do you know that you're in the right gear? I get this clunky sound at high gear low speeds on my 2019 Vulcan 650s. Thanks again!!
Thanks for the feedback! If you let the engine RPM get too low while driving, that will cause "engine lugging" and you should shift to a lower gear. I would typically stay in whatever gear keeps the RPM over 3,000. If RPM falls below 3,000 shift to a lower gear.
On back road driving I set it on eight, but if I’m gonna be sitting on the interstate for several hours - which I do often - I crank it up to 10 to 12 and it rides on rails
What happens if I put the front suspension on setting 1 and the rear much higher. How likely is it for the Ryker to turn more like a motorcycle does? Do you have any experience with a different reverse trike of which the main body can swivel so it drives more like a 2 wheeled motorcycle? Or maybe a sidecar-like setup without the actual sidecar body (just the frame)?
The only thing that ever cleaned the head buffeting up entirely for me and kept me in a smooth pocket of air was a re-curve windshield made by freedom shields. Custom measured to my line of eyesight. It was for a different bike entirely but thought I would at least share this.
Plastics can become brittle with age and exposure to the environment. I have seen pallets of plastic sway bar links in a warehouse that were so brittle you could crush them in your hand. Ozone will deteriorate plastic. Companies get away with making sway bar links out of plastic simply because it,s not a safety critical component, if it fails on the vehicle, no one dies! your handling just feels wrong in a turn.
