HI mate. Thanks heaps for the vid. Would you know where Rode placed my audio that it said it would save to my computer during this update? It asked me to update automatically when I pulled them in today, and said it would first transfer my audio files, then deleted them. It created a text based file, and that's all? Thank you! :)
That locking DC barrel is enough of a reason to get the Enhanced over the Standard model. If you're rigging it out on your camera and powering it with a V-lock, you want that assurance that you're not going to snap the connector or accidentally disconnect it whilst on the job.
100% agreed. And it’s even more of an improvement because of how bad the old connection was. Like I have other non-locking barrel connectors that felt better than it
How cool to find your channel! I'm trying to do the same with my Sony ZVe10 but I'm not able to make an adjustment to keep focus on two people at the same time. Can you suggest a tip like you did? Thanks!!
I’d suggest either using a larger aperture (EG: F4 instead of F2) or keeping both subjects the same distance from the camera. For example, if the person on the left side is exactly 1 metre from the camera, then make sure the person on the right side of the frame is also one metre away, then they should both be in focus
I have the exact same device and it used to work perfectly fine for us. Unless I tried to set it’s time correctly and afterwards it stopped working. Now I tried to reset it but forgot how to do that. Also I cant find the little manual booklet anymore so maybe someone reading this might know how to reset this little device?
Sorry I can’t help with that one. I threw out the manual and all packaging as soon as I got it up and running. I did email their support department with some questions (about the security side of things) and they were really responsive.
Just made one with an old tote bag I cut & sewed together. I used some of those plastic pellets used for filling beanbags and stuff animals, along with a mini pillow form and fill. Works awesome and was about $15 max.
@@Isaac_Insoll It worked out great. It definitely helps a ton to steady shots out and get that lower shot, but still be stable. It's also nice and compact so it feels a little more discreet than a full shoulder rig, but more stable than just hand-held.
I actually don’t know. I bought it second hand from my wife’s sisters husband who had it for years. I’m guessing I’d search for ‘Hollywood vintage stage light’ if trying to find something similar
Just dug out my old crumpler bag and was going to look for bean bag refill. I think pillow works better, during abd especially after shoot... to sleep on. 😅
I don’t have an atomos ninja but I presume it’s similar image quality to the shinobi. Compared to the shinobi I like this slightly more but they aren’t that different, so I’d consider this a ‘shinobi plus wireless features’ rather than a ‘much better image than a shinobi’ if that makes sense
Correct me if I'm wrong, but original XLR-K3M has digital \ analog switch. XLR-H1 does not have such switch does it mean that it provides always digital or analog signal ?
I’m actually not sure, it has been working perfectly for me for a couple of years now on both FX3 and FX6. I suspect it’s digital as analog was only needed on them to support older bodies, but I can’t actually say that for sure. Either way, it has worked fine on both types of cameras
@@Isaac_Insoll yes, pretty useful, especially sitting down on a chair panning and shooting, you have to tinker with the quality and quantity of cushion though
Frazer Island?? Are you serious? Do you know how offensive it is to hear that! First nation minority oppression is historical colonialism racism! Haha great vid guys I’m getting the M1 i need wireless.
lol, I panicked at the first half of that comment and was about to blame Daniel for it 😂 Yea I’ve got the M1 enhanced now so Daniel has the original M1 and is loving it 🔥
I’m using Home Assistant. This whole device is powered by ESP Home which is built to connect simple smart home devices like this to home assistant without using the cloud. I didn’t want “cloud” as I don’t want to pay other companies or trust them with my data. If you want something that works directly with google home without home assistant then I’m sure there are multiple options out there for you, but this isn’t the one you want, and I don’t have anything I can recommend as I’ve only got experience with this one.
I didn’t do scientific testing on the M1 enhanced but it absolutely felt the same as the original M1, which means it’s noticeable compared to a SmallHD but after using it for 1 min you get used to it and don’t notice it.
Hello, together with my friends we decided to record our RPG session and upload it on youtube. We're group of 5 persons playing togheather around one table. We got almost everything ready but still problem with sound. Im wondering how we can record 5 of us with good sound quality. I have blue yeti (i dont think this will be a good option) and behringer404 (audio interface for my guittar). One of my friends told me to look for shutgun microphone and that's how Im here :) Could you give me some advice will that microphone be optimal for our demand? I wanted to put that microphone above our heads on the middle of the table. Other option that i can see is some wireless microphones but im not sure about that.
I have the m1 enhanced. And ill use an ipad to pull focus when i film myself testing lighting. Im really surprised how bad the quality is streaming to an ipad. The image is very blurry and couldnt really pull focus with it. The sharpening focus option helped but just rly surprised how bad it is at such close range. If anyones planning on relying the ipad transmission to pull focus i would go another direction. Also rly hate that theres no pinch to zoom or quicker way to zoom
I’ve recently started using the M1 enhanced to transmit to a 15” monitor and would agree totally. On a smaller monitor like a 7” receiver the image compression is acceptable but at 15” sizes it’s great for client review of framing etc but nowhere near as sharp as running even a 1080p feed directly into the monitor.
Updated to 2.4.6 and now all devices are sub 15% battery even though they where all 98% before the update. Anyone else have this? Im now waiting for them to charge up and im in a rush
Sorry, I didn’t have any experience like that, and I’ve now sold all my rode go’s to migrate to tentacle sync products so I can’t really offer any advice
Yes, photo is 100% fujifilm and video is mostly Sony, but only because I love the FX6. If I didn’t have it then I’d go back to using Fuji for video like I used to do, which was perfectly fine except for autofocus being…. “Sub optimal” but absolutely not a deal breaker in any way.
@@Isaac_Insoll ok, so i never did get to test out the gym bag. with that said, i'm shooting a basketball tournament this weekend, in which i wanted some cam movements/handheld look, but i didn't want a lot of shake. so i dug up an old camera slingbag and gonna give that a shot. but there's still no way in hell i'm paying $200-400 for the bean bags. 😂😂
I take my phone anyway though as otherwise people can’t call me and I can’t listen to podcasts on the walk. The remote is literally only taken for getting back into the house. My wife and I are both loving the ‘keyless dog walk life’ now :)
There are two other use cases for CF Express type A (which I use every week for 3-4 months): 1. Shooting longer than 12 hours continuously on a Sony a7S3 at 4K60 fps at 200 Mb/s. To do this, you need two 1TB Type A Cards which will give you 13 hours with no overheating outdoor at 75 deg. F. The cost of 1TB CF-A is $500 (total $1000) whereas the cost of comparable v90 SD card is twice that of CF-A (you need 4x512GB (@$500 ea. or $2000) because there is no 1TB v90 SD card); you can get v60 1TB SD card at $300. With this CF-A VG200 card I can shoot 600Mb/s 4k60fps if needed. 2. Shooting longer than 8 hours continuous on Sony A1 at 260 Mb/s 8K30 fps. At 520 Mb/s 8K30fps I get 7.5 hours. The A1 will overheat in 40 minutes in sunlight 75F unless you have a fan like this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IFqYIwcExS4.html I'm switching over to CF-A (after 3 years now) because of the flexibility of getting the highest resolution when needed or the longest runtime. Cost as of Feb 2024 is better than v90 which is limited now to only 512gb per SD card.
Hello Isaac, excellent videos, you explain many things, I have three questions, I have the same monitor and I have three doubts. 1. What cable do you use to connect the monitor to the smallrig NP-F power board. 2. The Focus Peaking help on my monitor is terrible, it is almost not visible, not even at 100%, (and I updated it to the latest firmware) when I connect it to the App from the iPhone it is much better, could it be a defect of mine or is yours the same? 3. I see that some monitors show a red rectangle indicating that it is being recorded, this one doesn't, right? Thank you very much if you can help me with these questions.
