This is the most useless content I've ever seen. if u buy a Chevy and can't afford to build the motor out to a 427 or whatever then maybe u should of bought a civic. I don't care if the motor can't make it to 100k miles it's gonna get built regardless of the miles
That’s the problem, your only a small set of people who buy a Chevy and build the motor! I even built mines but that doesn’t take away from the fact that most people enjoy having a warranty and not big on mods but like the product itself. Most people get cars and ride them till the warranty expires and trade in. But I wouldn’t call the content useless just consider it more awareness
Not gon' lie, the title of the video had me fuming. :D The LT4 is super reliable. I beat mine on the track regularly and am probably the hardest on the car in all of RU-vid (peep my channel). This motor should easily go 100k+ or more. I'd say even 200k+ miles with no issues. Bad tuning is the achilles heel of the LT4. ...and yes, assuming you can supply adequate fuel, they'll take up to about 1200hp before they grenade. I wish we would have gotten the LT5 from the C7 ZR1 as a sendoff.
My personal experience with the LT4, don't mess with it, leave it stock. Most people who think they know how to improve what GM created, simply do NOT know what they're doing and their lack of understanding the engineering of the LT4, creates a snowball of issues after mods and tuning.
Exactly! But it’s very hard to do for some as they have the urge for more power! I feel like it’s enough power as is but there’s always some who want to break records on public roads lol
I forgot to mention that corvettes is dry sumps vs camaro and caddy are wet sumps but thats minor. alot to uncover in a shot amount of time. As for lifters that true but I dont see them failing on LT4 as much as it does on the LT1s but it is there. and correct the V does have a 2650 but the block is still a LT4.
@@BLUPRINT1LE All good! Also I believe the pushrods are weaker than the valve springs. I have managed to bend a couple push rods in my ZL1 1LE and My blackwing smh. Honestly think it should be the first mod to drop thinner stronger push rods in all LT4s and LT1s.
@@josephbriggs2394 in all honesty getting into these cars is not for the faint at heart! Because LTs are definitely more expensive than the LS platform but you always have those guys saying I can make xxx with LS but the LT platform still growing and people still perfecting it
That’s true! I mentioned that in my LT1 video I did vs LT4 because it seems to be a big deal on LT1 NA vs LT4. Not sure why but yeah the issue still there
💯…also they need a catch can once you turn up the boost because the front crank seal likes to pop on them AND get that mf on E85 asap…they love it. Good video sir!!
Great video, agree with all statements. Certainly worth getting an oil catch can even if not modifying it. Yes, the valve springs are suspect. Saw a video from LMP tuner where a ZL1 with less than 1K miles was getting upgraded and when they took it apart, it was already failing. Thanks and God bless you all.
Thanks I appreciate it! Yes a catch can is a must for the entire LT platform! Not too many talk about the valve springs but throw power at the car without knowing what they get into!
What a load of crap. LT4 is one of the most reliable engines in recent history. Keep it stock and you will not have an issue. The only issue was with the C7 Z06 was because it had a low frontal area with not enough cooling. I went from a C7 Z06 to a ZL1/1LE and cannot emphasize how amazing the motor is. The ZL1 and ZL1/1LE did the right thing with lots of cooling. KEEP IT STOCK!!
LT4 is reliable to some degree but the 17-18 couldn’t hold oil pressure past 30k miles. It’s been issues of that oil pump failing but they fixed it later in the years and it’s been good since. However if you do keep it stock you have that warranty to back you up for 6 years! So you’re right in keeping it stock. Very rare I see people do though
Muscle cars have no style since the last 4th gen Firebirds an Camaro's really even mustang took a dump in looks an actual metal cars lol u guys pay 50 g plus for 400 hp ...lol my 4th gen is 2nd gen LT1 an pushing 470 hp an looks 10000Xs better in my opinon for 3/4 price ..mine faster guaranteed an I have everyone from 5 yr old kids to 80 yr old Gramps stoping an complimenting on the true last muscle cars .....since 2009 ish a Camaro looks like a mustang an a Snack pack .. no style ..just plastic bulk junk period ..just me an I Respect what use like ..but to a 70s kid as myself ...these ain't cars lol
I can agree with that but these newer cars are competing against cars that’s cost 300k or less and providing the same lap times and performance as the expensive cars that was still expensive back then and now! The muscle car phase is dead now and people moving onto sports cars and high performers.
I like that you both have the Blue paint. I see a few camaros while im out driving and I have only seen one in the light blue. and one in the dark blue. most are white, red, or yellow and black. Ive seen one of those ugly ass green ones and a few super hideous orange. I am sad they took the Camaro away again for the 2nd time in my life. I was around driving age the first time and didnt get one and now I cant get one again cuz they quit making them. So stupid! I would buy a mustang or a used Camaro if I ever can!
You should be able to find one with this color! I seen a few on FB marketplace! A lot of people have them for sale! You should have some good luck and get one if they’re local! Try there!
i got a 2SS and naw i’m koo i hate the spoiler and i love the lighting at night in the 2ss plus the all day running back camera is 🔥 in the 2ss wit heated and cool seats 😅 idk bro
Yessir! cant go wrong with Camaro as a college student! Yeah that old school ways barely making but it was getting the job done. I actually miss that car because it was so good on gas!
I had a 2012 V6 premium. I almost got a 2013 GT premium. It was an acid green fully loaded. It was still on the lot when the 2015 came out. The dealership wouldn't take my employee discount at that point
Sheeesh that would’ve been a steal if you got employee discount on top of that! 2012 premium still good! One of the cars I recommended too! Ironically it was one of them you drove to college
I am not sure why my video cut off towards the end but, what cars would you recommend for college students? What car did you drive to and from college? Or even if you didn’t go to college what would you recommend for someone starting out and building credit! Drop a comment!
@@BLUPRINT1LE Check this out. In 2015 you could get a Mustang with a V8, a V6, or a 4 cylinder EcoBoost. All GT's are V8. The trim names in 2015 were GT, GT Premium, V6, EcoBoost, and EcoBoost Premium.
In 2014 the trims were V6, V6 Premium, GT, GT Premium, and Shelby GT500. This is more relevant to your video, because 2014 is the last year of the fifth gen.
C7 GS is the poor mans porsche. Camaimro has better steering feek and easier to drive at the limit than the C7 VS though. C7GS is a bargain even at $60k used. I track a 6th gen camaro ss. FBO, 19inch wheels and 200tw tires and a buch of other goodies.
Lol. No comparison. 911 is the best sports car ever made. Everyone knows it and has known it for 20 years. However they have gotten crazy expensive in the last 5 years. Hence the poor man’s alternative.
I agree! Not shaming the 911 at all! One of the dream cars to get! I’m just comparing spec for spec and HP and lap times. When you considered a 45K car competing with 300k+ cars thats pretty impressive especially when you look at lap times and we know Porsche has a lot of painted carbon fiber to get that lovely curb weight and aero to make it work together
