Hey there, my name is Mhari, and I have created this channel to share knitting tutorial videos and guide you through various knitting projects right here on RU-vid!
In addition, I also produce videos that talk you through specific knitting techniques. I've included some top knitting tips for beginners, along with advice, projects and reviews for more advanced knitters. I hope you find the videos useful and that we can inspire you to create something special that you will love!
We try to post new videos every week, so if you love knitting as much as we do, hit the subscribe button and the little bell icon and you'll receive a notification every time we post something new.
I also run a small website called Flock & Fern, selling my favourite knitting patterns, plus other items that fill my heart with joy!
Please feel free to comment with any questions or enquiries and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
I have tried to learn knitting for decades. TODAY I succeeded. Thank you for helping my dyslexic brain understand. I can't wait to try all of your techniques!
Hi, I noticed you didn't have a long tail, but used just the ball end. I thought you had to use a tail to wrap too. Does your method still give a stretchy cast on?
😮😮thank you so much I’ve been trying for two weeks and after seeing your video it all made perfect sense 😅 I’m so happy I’m finally getting somewhere 😊
Love this developing sheep. FYI 'amount' is only used for things which cannot be counted (sugar, salt etc), number is used for things you can be counted, like stitches.
Thread your darning needle, then drop your stitches one at a time on to the darning needle (as though you were moving them from the left hand needle to the right hand one) and slide them on to the wool tail as required. Your technique is a disaster waiting to happen, especially for beginners. Terrific video. Reminds me of a Zaza sheep my Gran knitted me a few years (more than half a century!) ago and a cludgie roll cover she also made.
I've tried to learn to knit in the past and just couldn't pick it up. Your tutorials make learning so much easier. I managed to do a sample swatch and I'm very excited. Can you make a video showing how to correct it if you accidentally drop a stitch. 😅
I didn't have a darning needle so I used a crochet hook. Before I took each stich off I would put the hook into the stich, take it off, and then thread the yarn through. It seemed to work pretty well! Thanks for a great tutorial! Looking forward to make the rest of the sheep 🐑🐑🐑
I was looking for thumb cast-on instructions for a baby cardigan I’m knitting and this was super simple and clearly demonstrated. Thank you for sharing!
how do you keep the working yarn out of the way so you can go under the other loop to take it off. My working yarn keeps getting in the way & pops off. I'm having so much trouble with that. You make it look so easy.
Oooo good question, I had to actually look at how I knit and I seem to hold it in place between my middle finger and ring finger on my right hand but I’ve never actually noticed! See if that helps and keep trying! You can do it!
I am having trouble putting the needle down under the working yarn that I put around the needle to come under & bring off the stitch to the other needle. I never have enough room to get my needle over working yarn. I hope you understand what I'm saying. It's hard to explain. I've pulled it out at least 10 times so far.
Oh nooo! Have you tried using larger size needles so you can knit them across easier? Keeping tension is honestly the hardest thing when you’re starting out, it takes a lot of practice. Best of luck! And happy knitting 🧶
Heyy! These are so so cute. I just started learning to knit using various vids & family help. Your videos have been super helpful & therapeutic for me…especially with anxiety. Thank you so much. Have a lovely day. 😊
Hey! Thanks so much! This is such a lovely comment! I’m so so glad my videos are helping you! Stress/anxiety/depression got me started with knitting and it helps me everyday, so glad to hear the same for you. Take care! Thanks again ❤️🥰
Best knitting tutorial!!! I’ve watched several today and have gotten so frustrated. Wanted to quit but said let me watch one more. And the one more was this one and I got it! It’s the cross of the needles that makes it make more sense to me! Crossing them like a cross instead of like an X. Thank you thank you!!!
Hey thanks for watching! Different cast on methods do tend to look slightly different, some are neater than others and most knitters have a preference. Hope this helps! Happy knitting! 🧶
