Almost Every 6.7 Cummins after roughly 150k miles needs a valve lash adjustment it’s in the manual too, mine just started doing it when cold but once oil makes it to the top and warms up it goes away, running rotella T6 also
etownbrawler1 Wrong, if you buy a Shitamax you’ll break down within the first 3 miles of purchase. You’d be better buying a shopping trolley than a Shitrolet.
etownbrawler1 Sure bruh, Literally all of my past (past for a reason) shitrolets are no longer around. They’re all built worse than a marriage with a prostitute and last as long as a 14 year old on viagra. Please stop being so cringe, and yeah, you’re gonna need a towing company when all you can tow is a Shitrolet. Ford makes them look like peasants, and so does Chrysler. Please do everyone a favor and get your head out of your ass 😂
etownbrawler1 And not even to mention, i have a 2013 RAM that’s had literally 0 issues since purchasing brand new. Hasn’t fallen apart, and still looks brand new with waxing of the paint. pls stop reaching LMAO
My 2018 engine was making noise like that. I burnt all the fuel with anti gel in it. (Clean diesel brand ) the one Cummins recommends. I took truck on Hwy and kept RPMs over 2000 and then refueled with fresh fuel no additive. The next day I started the truck it was like the first day I bought it. Maybe it was in regen mode. I don’t know. Just happy it’s quite again. Good luck to you.
If I remember correctly, I used a 15mm socket, 10mm socket, 14mm wrench and a metric allen key. If you search on RU-vid "how to adjust Cummins valves" you'll be able to find something to help you out. Remember to adjust the valves when the engine is cold. Good luck - Caleb
I have an 07 6.7l deleted and have the same noise it is fairly constant from 1st to 4th, but when you get to 5th or 6th it changes it gets louder and a bit more poppy under heavy acceleration, was told it was an exhaust leak at the manifold have not attempted a fix yet.
Any updates ? my 17 started this with 10k miles dealer adjusted valves they were way out of spec sounded like marbles in the top of the motor that went away now it has this stupid tick they say it's normal but I'm not buying it .
damn yea I talked to my tuner about it he said it's either a cp3 tick or a injector rattle he said it's totally normal .. Lol it just bugs the fuck outa me but my truck runs fine
It's normal. Welcome to the diesel world. Your valve lash will be loose when your engine is cold, plus all your oil has drained to the pan. Once the engine warms up, your good to go. It's has to do with the CP3 pump timing.
Will you be able to provide me you tire size? I have a 13' Ram 2500 also but I don't want to lift it, i want to get as wide tires as possible without lift it up
so I have been looking into it, and still can't find the source of this noise. I've ruled out exhaust leaks or def injector noise since I've deleted the truck. still a mystery...
I had a 2015 that did this exact noise and could not get the dealer to do anything about it. They kept telling me It was normal, but It was loud like that too. It sounded definitely like valvetrain noise, so I got rid of it before I was going to delete it and then end up with a mess from the tick and no warranty.
