Baffling. These companies (Casio and Texas Instruments, particularly) and all their marketing games are confusing. Sorry to hear those are missing from the 991ES -- thank you for letting others know. It is the first time I have ever heard of an actual difference between the 115ES and the 991ES -- I incorrectly assumed they were just different names for the same device based on historical/marketing reasons.

They all do the same right? I don’t mind if one is slower but I need one for physics class. Are they all the same or do they have different ways of doing the same calculation?
@scottcollins7513
@scottcollins7513 6 дней назад
The three calculators in the video are very similar in terms of how they function. There are slight differences, but they are subtle. Any of the 3 would be good for physics class. The speed difference is insignificant for any typical calculation you will do in physics. This video goes into more detail if you are curious: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6J_ehPTc0hw.html

@@atFanta The 991CW is the replacement for the 991EX (in the US) -- www.casio.com/us/scientific-calculators/product.FX-991CW/ 115ES PLUS 2nd edition is replacement for 115ES PLUS (in the US). @CanadaElon Месяц назад
Totally agree. From my situation, I do a lot of CAS math in controller design, if I use the 48, I need to write down every step and value carefully for some review of the procedure, and bear with its grandma speed. However, Prime revolutionizes this experience, its algebraic style makes the whole procedure smooth and easy to review, and it is so fast, I think Prime represents a modern level of a handheld calculator can achieve with so many years' accumulation, meanwhile 48gx also represents his status at 1990s, they are all kings. I love RPN, it needs you to think more about the math. hope there could be some evolution products on the basis of HP48 with a modern hardware platform.
@scottcollins7513
@scottcollins7513 6 дней назад
Appreciated reading your thoughts in the comment and your use case for the Prime. The Prime is blazing fast, but I never warmed up to it, since I do not really have a need for that kind of power. I think RPN is forever relegated to the "enthusiast" market (e.g. SwissMicros), but I still love it.

@@scottcollins7513I now tested the TI30X Pro over the last to days and just wantes to give you feedback. I will Return the 30X pro for several reasons (all compared to my beloved fx991DE X). I think the 991 has a much more intuitive Overlay, allthough I like that on the 30X you can do imaginary Numbers in the Same Menu as normal calculation. TI30X only Features 3x3 Matrix, while 991 Features 4x4. The pressure points of the Buttons are catastrophic on the TI in my opinion, sometimes it feels I dont press the Buttons at all. Also in terms of readability, due to the bigger screen on the fx is a lot better there too. What I also hate is that you have Double functions on One Button, so you have to cycle all variables, while on the fx I can just put them behind each other without multiplication Symbols. Square Root unter 2nd makes also no sense in my opinion. Last Point is the default replace Mode and not the insert Mode from the fx, with a cursor that looks so much better. Actually the only advantage of the TI is the copy Paste Feature together with the Memory that dont delete after turning off the calculator. I Hope Casio will add it someday.

It is giving you the correct answer (not sure why you have a zero in front of the 2, but it's technically still the correct answer). The L-R=0 is just the calculator telling you that it found an answer where the difference between the Left and Right sides of the equation are equal -- in other words it found an answer.
