Went on a deep dive with FromSoftware and lead me here. The music in this game is something that is quite disorienting and chaotic. Yet at the same time feels somber and peaceful. The mix of vocals, chanting and ethnic instruments gives it a vibe I haven't really heard outside of Kotas work. This track in particular being my favourite one in the soundtrack. When I listen to it, I get a mixture of emotions that evoke death, acceptance and hope. I never played Evergrace, however from watching videos on it, from what I saw, much of the story was hard to follow for most. Leaving it hidden in mystery for a long time. It seems this hasn't really changed much compared to the games FromSoftware continues to put out. I find it fun to look at all the parallels this game has to FromSoftwares later work. In a way this game feels like it really did lay out the foundation for them. Not just how they tell their stories, but also the atmosphere their games invoke.
Thank you for your comment! This song will always be one of my favourites, too. You should play Evergrace one day if you can. I remember having the most peculiar feeling listening to this song and playing through Sharline's route... A feeling of being lost in a dream, which is nicely fitting.
@@mariopartylover10 Thanks. It was an interesting deep dive to get into this game. It first started with one of my friends showing me the music. That shop theme.... At first I found it abrasive, but as I listened to the track it grew on me. I do want to play Evergrace, though I have a lot in my back catalog to play. I think I might read the novel first. When I get around to doing that, I'll comment again on how I feel about it. lvl Jakes video on Evergrace more or less pointed me to this channel. Even if that video gave a cliffnotes version of the game, I do find its story interesting. Mostly as a way to draw parallels to fromsoftwares later games. Evergrace feels like a distant cousin or uncle, holding a lot of the things that makes fromsoftware games interesting. I find it funny that fromsoftware still has a weird disjointed way of telling stories. Though for Evergrace it seemed to have not fully worked in the way they intended. Sorry if this is a long ramble, I find it pretty interesting to dive into. Also I watched a bit of that one video of you trying to explain the story and I found it pretty funny, though hard to follow. The little drawing of each of the characters are the best part, I like how you drew Sharline and Darius.

thank you so much it means the world to me that people still pour their love into this game, i learned abt it from the music and i want to get into the story but i dont really play games and i love reading. im so thankful
thank you for your kind words. I will always have Evergrace in my heart :3 i can't believe it's been 2 years since this translation came out! I will warn for its amateur quality (that i hope to redo someday), but i also hope you will enjoy the story. darius and sharline are very precious to me. The light novel is almost done too!!
I was scared to watch this video again because I thought it would be really bad but I started shaking uncontrollably at the midpoint so this is still a good AMV good job Alayna 2021
