I always enjoy your analysis, but stating the USA got the "cakewalk side of the draw" makes little sense when your argument is that playing Germany and then Belgium is a "tough" draw for the French. Both of those teams were in the USA group, so you are basically saying the USA had the hardest group play by far and, so, earned the right to an easier path by going undefeated against such tough competition and, thereby, garnering the cakewalk draw. In short, France did not do as well against lesser competition as the USA did against better competition, so the French had the easier path to the cakewalk draw but could not get there, leaving it open to the USA to obtain. So, sure, you can say the USA has an easier path to the Finals, but you also need to note that they had a harder path to the Quarterfinals and, despite that hard path, outplayed the French to gain the easier path.
Yes, the USA had the hardest group by far lol. I made an entire video on that. It was impossible for France to dodge Belgium in the quarters by winning, even if it was by 100 points. Germany were also were guaranteed on that side. If France won every game by 100 points they'd be facing Belgium followed by the winners of Spain/Germany. So the exact same 4 teams
