Does anyone remember the hit Copper took min the Japan game. Yes, she returned for a few minutes at the end, but I'm betting she's still hurting from that and they held her out against Belgium as a precaution.

@@grownupgaming I was a little kid when Jordan was in the league so I can’t speak to how good or bad he was at the end of his career. But in this specific situation the wnba made it clear that these are supposedly the best of the best now that’s why they were picked. Now while you and I can see in between the lines of what that means it doesn’t change the fact that Diana and a handful of other players on the team can barely walk let alone play basketball. They want to put her in a game for 10 minutes even though it’s a waste of time go ahead but she started and barely played in game every game she plays in. Her body can’t do it anymore and she shouldn’t push it but that’s what happens when her ego is more important than her physical health. They’re trying desperately to prove they didn’t make a mistake with players they chose and it’s not working in they’re favor. There’s 2 members on the team who’re the reason they’re winning 2 out of 12 players. If this is meant to look like respect towards Diana and her legacy it’s not in fact it’s diminishing her legacy.
Okay, I realize the egos are likely too big to overcome, but imagine if the team actually recognizes they’ve got a problem after this game. If Germany also at least plays them close do you think they might decide that someone has to go out with an injury and they bring in Caitlin for a game? If I were them, what would I rather, bring her in so if we lose we do so with her on the floor, or lose for the first time on the national stage with a bunch of people ready to shout I Told You So’s for the rest of our careers? Now, I think the more likely scenario is that they won’t be able to believe they can truly lose so it’ll come as a shock if they do. I’m not going to be rooting against them, but if they’re playing against France in the Gold Medal Game just from an objective perspective, the best way to grow the game is for France to get to upset Team USA in this match. And then the next game will be played in Los Angeles and give Team USA the chance for redemption...if I ever thought a fix could be in, this might be it...:)
I wuld think it was a precaution do to the injury vs Japan. However, Why didnt they just announce that. Jru Holiday sat out today for precautionary reasons for an injury he had game before. Why didnt the woman say the same thing

Copper was injured in the last game. They are being careful and saving her for later games. You should be aware of this if you are going to broadcast " the truth" to thousands of people.
