hello! i just took my road test today at this location. let me tell you everything to expect. the instructor will have you pull into the entrance overhang as seen in the beginning. the instructor will have you put the car in park and ask you to step out of the vehicle. they will check the break and the horn. next the instructor will have you step back in and will have you show the left indicator, right indicator, and break lights. next, you'll pull forward after shifting in D (drive). you'll be expected to park, then back up, do a three point turn, and emergency break. while you're parked within the cones, the instructor will ask you what to do when parked on a hill (downhill), you're answer will be wheels are inward, gear is in P (park), parking break on, then car off. after you are done with the parking, backing exam, emergency break, and three point turn, you will be asked to go around the course again and then you are done. good luck !! 🫶🫶 i passed first try i'm so relieved
@@NikhilKulangaroth I actually did pass with no errors! :D and I was putting myself down ALL day and woke up super early to practice right before the test. They are very patient with you at the casselberry DMV and will even help you with parking, I am so grateful and appreciative of them! Also, it seemed like there was a lot of people but with my appointment I was in and out with my license in less than 30 minutes. Be confident and don't beat yourself up like I did :) get the question right about parking uphill or downhill, it was uphill for me, focus on your 3 point turns, and go at a comfortable speed. I wouldn't recommend gassing it I was cruising :) also make sure you come to a stop when the tester tells you to do, the quick stop. Let me know if you need any more advice :)
I'm really grateful for this little video. So many great memories came flooding out of it. I was a junior in high school when this was shot. I could almost see my dad's sign shop next to Burger King. Just makes me smile.
Good video. I was 15 that summer. My dad and uncle both worked the CCC operation in Yosemite in 1935. We used to go up there sometimes to watch the firefall. Which one is you in the video?
Thank you for the view of Oakhurst times past. The town is a bustling city during tourist season now. We even have rush hour traffic! What's rush hour traffic? Hotel check-in times. 😆
Looks like the same shithole now as it did then prolly not a many feins running around stealing shit outta cars breaking in to buildings smoking fent and doing meth in the park yeah you right totally the same
This is 3 years before we moved to Coarsegold. I'm Yosemite High class of 91. Worked at the KFC in the video right after high school. It's really cool to see Oakhurst how it was back then. A nice trip down memory lane.
Imagine that, a Disneyland that Walt would find familiar and mostly approve of, not the woke, DEI/ESG overpriced and under-delivering version that's today's version. Thanks for the memories.
BACK IN THE DAY, you could plan your birthday party at Disneyland!!! I had my 6th Birthday party on Tom Sowyer Isle. I was to young to know how awesome that was!!!
@@chrisglazener3613 I guess the population of the L.A. area in creased, and consequently more L.A. area residents visiting Yosemite. Now, you need reservations to drive into Yosemite. Far different than the 90's when the traffic signals went up, let alone the '80's when there was only a 3-way stop.
@@mejercit Yeah I lived there until 2022 so I'm familiar with all the reasons why and how it changed. My daughter graduated from Yosemite High in 2021 and my parents, brother, etc are still there so I visit as well.
pre-star tours and solid color peoplemover trains! i loved early to late 80s disneyland, and especially tomorrowland. they really ruined it with the 1998 version. thanks for sharing this great footage.
This must the be show right before the big revamp in 1985, that they talked about so much in the lobby past 1985. How cool. I had never seen this version, just the 1985 version and ones that followed.
yes, a lot of transferring from something to sit on and my hand-cycle or chairs much faster then my prosthetic leg for getting around. I can only walk 100 yards and then I am done. In the chair I go a few miles at walking pace.
It's great to see '77 come to life again! I'm guessing this was early September '77. I was there toward the end of the month and Rainbow Ridge had been defoliated, clearing the was for Big Thunder. Here you can see the trees intact. I remember when costumes from The Rescuers started appearing there!
My personal situation is, I’m missing my right leg. Prior to that I had been driving for over 40 years. I use the hand control with my right hand to control the break and gas. I practiced a lot in a parking lot to get the feel of how the vehicle responded to the hand controls and to practice the maneuvers you will be asked to perform. You will need to do a 3-point turn, accelerate to 20 MPH then break quickly, back up 50 feet in a straight line and pull into a parking spot. Be sure to use your turn signal every time you change direction except when you’re in reverse. My only error was I didn’t pull up enough in the space. You never want to touch the cones. Relax and don’t over think it. Sorry for the delay in responding. Let me know how it goes.
This is amazing! Thank you for uploading. Haha “please refrain from smoking” Forgot people used to be able to smoke in parks! I do remember when they had “smoke areas”.
WOW, great footage. 1977 was my 1st visit there, I was 20yrs old. My 1st Disney experience anywhere. Going in September for my 65th birthday to Oogie Boogie Bash. Still a kid at heart!
