Hey Opaz.. I'm a big fan of your videos. I'm a dj, and I want to upgrade my speakers from k12.2 this year. I'm split btw Hdm 45, Nxl 24, and Nx 45a. In 2024, is Hdm 45 still your go to speaker?
If it had an internal battery, expect a price hike of roughly $700-1000 per unit and roughly a 15-20% loss of output power from the speaker whilst using that battery
@@opaz. absolutely true. But from a commercial standpoint not so wise. People are buying bluetooth speakers which are light, still powerful, with integrated mixer and wireless mics and power. Thats why the Bose S1 pro plus is so successful.
the bose lack definition in the base. The everse is very clean and clear, it's like you hear exactly your voice when you sing low notes. The bose tend to compress the low and gives a feeling of more reverb, It s a pity cause I love the wireless option
I was in the market to upgrade my Sony MX4 as Inhave been holding back on the MX5 due to it being not foldable as a frequent business traveller. I’ve awaited long enough and decided I had enough of the muffled Sony found after taking out my Hifiman Deva Pro out of the cupboard. Sold my IO6 last year and came across your vid on IO12. Being testing the Focals recently and considering the Solitaire T and 5909. I watched your Bathys vs 5909 and this IO12. Thanks to your reviews and honest real life insight, I could make the decision and end up cop the 5909 at the end - Ice Pewter.
Totally agree. Listened to this after I had A/B’d both Bathys and 5909 for a week and made my decision myself. I didn’t need a week. 5909 were more consistent than Bathys across a greater genre of music. Bathys wider sound stage, and more exciting but sometimes vocals are recessed when they should be more forward in the mix. WTF on the lights. Illuminating my wife whilst she tries to sleep and waking her up! Great. I buy phones for sound not for illuminated earcups. Forgetting time when listening to 5909s. Also the quality of the phones is so much better. I found the Bathys were wobbling on my ears, but nice and clamped on 5909s. Agree with the ‘grenade’ approach analogy of the Bathys soundstage. Yes the 5909s are a better product all around. IMO. Looking forward to my grey version. The red cups are also too much for me, but the red on the outside discs will be a nice touch.
Bose is great for audio quality, but shit for technology. Their connectivity, reliability, pretty much anything that requires a power supply they suck at. Over a jack cable and unpowered, they are excellent.
I have 2 minirig 3s and 2 minirig minis. I also got a sub 3. I absolutely love these speakers. I actually took all my minirig speakers and dasy chain them to the Dimondboxx Sub 8.2 and wow! Loud and clear!
Already have the Sonoflows, have tried them over multiple other headphones, they simply sound much better while being at a lower price. Quite surprised me, to be honest. The sound is amazing, albeit no jack options.
He's not lying about the headband being too short. This is why I had to return it, because at the limit of the headband it didn't fit my head. I was sad to realize that. The sound is superior to the Bathys, but I ended up having to get the bathys because the sound was still amazing plus the comfort and staging is high, also the bathys are very pretty in hand. I love the honeycomb design on the cups. The H95 though is pure luxury for real, plus I wanted to match the B&O in my car. Lol. I was sad to let it go. I hope they figure out this flaw
Beautiful review I love it❤ I want to ask you something please I want to buy the JBL prx one with the sub JBL-EON718S do you think is going to make this much better the sound it's going to be wow? Or you think PRX One it's enough thank you I appreciate it if you answer me
@@opaz. thank you for you coming back to me 🙏 no I don't buy it yet but I'm going to buy in one week the jbl prx one the question is probably you hear both together can you hear only the jbl prx one so what do you think? The sub EON718S going to make a very big difference wow? Or not...
A dedicated sub will definitely make a difference but you don't necessarily need to brand match unless you're getting a great deal It's also important to buy what you want so give it a try and if it suits you. .. . winner!
Hey Opaz hope you've been well man. Loving these videos bro and really appreciate all the time you put into them. I have to agree that wirelessly for most things the Dali is a slightly more enjoyable listen than the 5909 (probably cause the 5909 just feels like the more analytical listen), but what's your take on the two of them wired? Maybe it's just me but I feel like the 5909 is more DAC responsive and changes its sound signature a bit more than the Dali does. To me, wirelessly, I would give the edge to the Dali over the 5909, however while they both improve when listening wired I feel like the 5909 improves a little more and just sounds cleaner and impactful. Just curious what your thoughts were and whether you felt the same. Both are absolutely fantastic and worth their price though.
I'm great, thanks I have only listened to my 5909 wired once. That was on a flight and it sounded as if it was a completely different headphone, it sounded incredible. I tend to listen to my wireless headphones only wirelessly, I think mainly as I'm so busy to test or listen to them otherwise. I shall sometime soon listen to more of them wired
Who’s behind mark levinson right now. It’s not mark levinson him self. And Harmon sold there soul to Samsung. So who is really behind mark levinson today. I guess it would actually be Samsung since Samsung bought Harmon way before these cans came out. And Samsung is not known for hi end audio. So would you pay 1k for some Samsung cans cause that’s what this really is. I hate when a company uses another company’s name kills everything.
Do you know where I can purchase a new lower Grill array Part# T910400040030, mine has a dent and I can't seem to take out the dent. I like my gear looking new and don't want to use it this way.
I just sent back my Focal Bathys that I'd bought 2 weeks back and ordered Dali iO 12 to compare the sound quality between the two. They're coming tomorrow. Was that a good move...?
Today i had time an i hook everything up hooking just the unit up nothing every thing was great i hooked my laptop up pick up a rf single grab the right antenna it stopped i placed the right antenna down works great wow could it be that simple
Maybe in some cases yes, that simple. I'm sure I moved the antenna all over the place to no avail. With too many events I just couldn't risk it live during an emotional speech or corporate event. It would be a total disaster and not the service I promise to clients To me, a failure is a sign to sort it out immediately, be prepared with backup (which I already do with all of my equipment) or get rid and replace
Been using mine now for over a year, every week and push them, nothing vibrates, nothing broken, or fallen off.. I have since purchased the smaller 12" set up, which I now used as top speakers, now using the 15" as floor mounted bass units, this set up is now fine for what I do...
Wow, I am glad I stumbled over this review. I had an accident and thus the last few days I have been watching dozens of reviews and its remarkable that most reviewers I have watched to this point are full of praise for both these focals and the h95, so it's great to see the two of them being compared to another headphone - of which I have never heard up intil now - which seems to be far better! Btw, where are you from? I cannot figure out your accent but I kind of line how clear you pronounce each and every word :) Greetings from Zurich
spot on again!!.. already returned mine as it had other issues as well (like popping my drum right before losing connection-or it could be me missing the point a new feature?)
@@opaz. This is planar technology and not a dynamic driver. Anyone knows that planars give more detail, but less impact. A dynamic driver always sounds more natural. But higher quality is always a pursuit of details. And + there is an equalizer!
One big problem, no ANC. They also leak a lot of audio, making them the wrong choice for commuting Home use only for that price unfortunately, makes these two a better all-round choice
I love my 5909. I know the Focal fans love their Bathys and I've heard of the Dali and others but I love everything about the Mark Levinson offering, though it's even better sounding wired.
@@jonathanbarnes7641 non that I know of. For right now IMO 1) Dali 2) 5909 Dali took the 1 spot from 5909 My XM5 and APM are tired APM gets an edge for superior ANC than the XM5.
