Great video mate load of good info here. I have an N80 and planning on getting a 2inch lift however I'll most likely be staying with the stock tyre size so hopefully nothing hits and alignment works out. I noticed on some of my mates N70 the UCA hit the springs on full droop even on the stock tyres.
Cheers man, Yeah shouldn’t need it if you only go 2 inch and they probably have more than 2 inch lift or so. It doesn’t have anything to do with your wheels. That’s only if your tyre rubs on the uca or something, if you go big lift it pretty much pushes the uca down as the car goes up if that make sense, that’s why you get different ucas to clear your springs and for better alignment 🤙🏻
Hi Do you need some great lighting for your car to help you better driving, off-road. We're the pro auto lighting company for nearly 20 year and we're hoping to do some sponsorship with you!
@@M3gsy42 haha yeah dodgy but not depend how many you use I suppose haha I just have a rivnut gun so I used it but they are worth the investment man I just got mine off eBay
This tray build is awesome ! Do you have a list of what aluminium that you used and how much you used. Looking at doing a build myself and trying to get a rough quote on materials Cheers
Hey mate I bought it from a place called mates rates steel. They deliver from the goldy up to Gympie last time I checked. They are located in Wamuran. Back of Caboolture
Hey mate if you have no problem with alignment and hitting on stuff then there is no need to get them but if you go a bigger lift and stuff starts to hit it even different wheels you may need to consider them. Hope this helps 🤙🏻
Mate, I'm a metal fabricator and am about to build my own tray. You did a top job and love how you showed and owned your f#€£ ups along the way. Love ya work man. 👍
Thanks mate glad to hear that from someone who does it for a living 😂 as im only a carpenter and tig welding is just one of my many hobby’s 🤙🏻 I have honestly been waiting for a fabricator to come along and say "I wouldn’t have done it like that" 😂
Do what you wish mate. You don’t have to mount it there. Make your own bracket or something, also if you drill a hole you can paint the raw metal and if you’re afraid of rust. 🤙🏻
@@Ozoffroad_ oh thanks mate that’s good to hear I’m just wanting them to line up with the flares but don’t mind a lil cheeky poke. I’ve got a 218 sr5 and the guy at the tyre shop has recommended +15 but you have 0 offset with 305’s and I’m running 285’s so I’m thinking 0 would be the go for me also trying to avoid minimal scrubbing
@@e8tmidk mine are 285 75 16 so they are still 33inch and mine stick out a little bit. positive offset will give you less poke and negative gives you more 🤙🏻 if you have flares you should be able to run more negative or run what I have and it will be legal and look good.
Hey mate I used both of my machines I just made a new video and in it I talk about my welders if you wanna check it out 🤙🏻 I use the cigweld 185 and the 205 acdc
Thanks mate canopy will just be a few mods and powder coating then maybe a cheap fit out video cause I don’t have huge amounts of money to spend on 12v stuff hahah maybe when I do another build I might have a better setup. But I’m keen to make more videos so thanks for watching mate. 🤙🏻
Cheers mate I just got a quarter turn tap from Bunnings and drilled a hole for it and used this www.bunnings.com.au/holman-12-x-20-25mm-brass-bsp-tap-adaptor_p3130730 To screw it to the back of the panel and had another one I used for the filler part. I hope this helps mate. Everything was from Bunnings they are all hose fittings so just go in and have a look you will work it out 🤙🏻
Hi mate I use these www.totaltools.com.au/138201-cigweld-weldskill-240v-205-ac-dc-tig-inverter-w1008205 www.totaltools.com.au/119221-cigweld-weldskill-185-multi-process-inverter-welder-w1008185?BCampaignName%7D~%7BAdGroupName%7D&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIy_bOio70gAMVClorCh0pCAdjEAQYASABEgJnGPD_BwE Hope this helps mate 🤙🏻
Cheers mate. I had the tub off and put a straight edge along the chassis mounts and measured down from the bottom of the window to the straight edge then minus the tray headboard hight to underside of the tray and that gave me the length I needed to make the mounts. Hope that makes sense man 🤙🏻
Anything is possible with a grinder man 😂 you probably could with a body mount shop mine still rubs on full lock going up stuff cause I don’t have a bmc yet.
This build is unreal! What’s was the total cost in the end? And how long all up in time you reckon it was. Looks like you could get a few cashies out of this. 🤘🏽
Cheers man so the total in materials was about $5700 and I have no idea on time man I was actually injured pretty bad during this build which stoped me for a while. I have learnt a lot doing the tray and the major one is to take your time and don’t over weld to much at a time haha
Hi mate whats the length of the bed. Im after doing the same thing to carry two dirt bikes crf50 and a ktm 300 while towing a camping tailer. Or will it fit diagonally. I need a dual cab for the kids. So this seems like a good way to do it.
Hey mate I made it 1550mm long 50 mm longer than a tub but obviously you don’t loose the wheel arch like a tub so I guess you could probably put it on the angle or maybe straight on I haven’t tested my bike on it yet cause I have a trailer 😂 I recon it might fit but the back wheel might hang out a bit but im not sure 🤔
