Its an excellent tool. I took a 55 gallon plastic drum, cut the top off and made a bracket out of steel tubing to set the shredder directly on top of the drum. When the drum got full I picked up the chopper and pushed down on the leaves. When it would not compress any more I would take the drum to where I wanted the chopped leaves to sit and dump the chopped leaves out

Please advise how to clean the air filter, etc. to keep the motor running well. Dust is a major issue. Thanks. CWB.

I bought mine in 5/18. A few days ago she gave up running. No response to anything you can do as an owner. Fully charged. I'm on my 2nd chain, 2 sharps, occasional use. $350 saw junk. Enjoy it now cause it will just quit and you'll be out. Oh, it throws the chain every time I tried to do brush cutting with it, Real fun. I was like you once.

Add some lemon grass oil to the water to help attract the bees, about 12-15 drops.

I have a lot of M18 tools and other electric tools I've converted to use M18 batteries. I recently rented a M18 chainsaw to drop a few large trees and decided against buying one. IMO, the new Echo 56V with 18" bar is a much better choice if you need a chainsaw for anything more than occasional use.

I just got the Milwaukee saw new for $185 plus tax. I think it’s perfect. I still have my gas saws for large tree trunks, but this is great for olive bushes, weed trees, limbs, stuff like that. It’s a lot quieter.

Nicely done. I would definitely try to get the legs as outboard as possible. Putting the legs so close together decreases the stability. But a great option and cheap too!

6:30 - Oxygen doesn't have much to do with the syrup fermenting... In fact, the yeast is anaerobic, so oxygen actually inhibits the growth.Oxygen causes preserves to go bad, because of aerobic microbes that break down the various organic matter in the fruits, not the sugars themselves.

Biggest hunk of junk. Gets hot, poor battery and away over priced. Green works and ECO are 100 times better at a better price by far. Don't buy this crap.

Ok video. Take a couple practice shoots to perfect before filming. Would have been worth reading the instructions first online then explain when assembling which took too long to watch. Good explaining of the wet and dry leaves effects on shredder. Nice to name types of leaves but needed to know large, thick leaves or sizes of small sticks that could be used. Thanks for sharing the tips.

Add 10-20 earthworms to your compost and you'll get volunteers workers to chomp your leaves. They will multiply quickly and transform your leaves into soil in a fraction of the time.

FYI- Alternate Method to Building a Big Massively Huge Caged Pile (Not for the OCD inclined.) Stake your T Posts. Fill in between posts within the intended diameter by running in your cart or wheel barrow & dumping. THEN cage with wire. Saves shoveling & lifting.

Thanks for the setup and demo. I am going to try a diy hack version of a battery powered string trimmer in a tub of leaves to see if that does a similar job. If it doesn't do what I need, this item might be what I want. edit- my goal is to shred for composting, not setting to the curb, so being able to process grass clippings and kitchen scraps as well is my end goal.

This was a more helpful video review. I am looking to mulch avocado leaves which are somewhat thick, and they are often a combination of dry and more green leaves as they fall all year long. I'm wondering if this machine would work on them. I fear it might not work so well.

The invert sugar for honey bees is made only by catalyzing through invertase enzyme where heat doesn't exceed 60 degree, this way include heating to about 110 degree resulting in high ratio of HFM which is poisonous to bees.
@princenephron7546
@princenephron7546 Год назад
I think you mean HMF (hydroxymethylfurfural), not "HFM. Also, the "poisonous" nature of HMF is extremely exaggerated. A tiny amount won't hurt bees. Honey generally contains MORE HMF than typical sugar syrup made at >80C.

I bought one. It works great on dry leaves. Not as well on wet ones. But, it does go through a lot of trimmer line. I'm going to try an appropriate sized metal line to see if it would work better. I wonder if anyone has tried a metal line.
@mikemarcus8676
@mikemarcus8676 9 месяцев назад
how did the metal line work?
@peterdavila3045
@peterdavila3045 9 месяцев назад
@mikemarcus8676 Fogetabotit ... not practical without some protection builtin. A metal line will cut body parts off rather easily if you're not careful. So, don't do it. I suppose a safe such weed wacker could be designed, but you would need a smart device that would stop instantaneously on contact with anything other than grass 🙄

I have a lot of twigs in my oak leaves. They wear out the line way too fast, even with the heavier line. I built a 4x8 table for picking out twigs, but that was too slow. Looking for a chipper shredder.

The best and quickest remedy is an electric mulching lawn mower--I like the Scotts because of the metal deck-it's quieter and a lot more power-will chew up twigs also-and a much finer mulch. Got all my neighbors doing the same thing now, LOL.
