Good video :D btw are you putting extra mastery in gear? Mastery greatly surpass versatility and haste in terms of dmg. I follow in retail, I have like 28% haste 21% mastery 41% versa and my mind blast hits for >300k with Mastermind. Unfurling Darkness is hitting >540k on ppl with all 3 dots.
If they buff'd mind blast dmg by a fuck ton and make DA/VE instant cast, give instant cast mind spike insanity with big dmg buff and give VT dispel cover, voidweaver would be so good and fun to play
We are pretty good in bg but we suffer from the same problem in arena. We will be a lot better just with some small adjustement like our void form insta cast again by pvp talent, something that make dispelling our dot relevant and a rework on shadow crash to istantly spawn on ground.
Good video - you are a very good shadow priest - no wonder I don’t do good in pvp with sp you have to play this good to achieve 3 rounds in solo shuffle - think I’ll stick to my easy to play fury warrior that has good burst and healing - mages, especially frost will get you as fury but I’m okay with paying that price to have fun
Dragonflight really is WoW 2.0 and ofcourse TWW will simply be a slight alteration of Dragonflight. What came before Dragonflight is dead and buried. Now we can be satisfied with spamming our buttons while mostly it's the healers competing. DPSing in Dragonflight/TWW feels like constantly pulling on a rope, it's not fun, it might be entertaining for a bit but what made WoW fun has been deleted. I mean, shadow is just not fun anymore, it's not exciting to have the entire spec revolve around rotating halos and mindflaying, imo the fun part with shadow was having mind flay, but not having my entire spec built around it, I still don't get why regular mind flay is a gimped wet noodle EX-Void bolt proccer spell that always feels bad pressing. The dots are super lame aswell, it's just super bad for shadow now, it's not that it's a bad spec it's just that it's so changed to something less fun. But IMO I think most specs are less fun nowadays, just too much fighting game design with cds and combos and rampers. And shadow really doesn't fit into that genre, hence the new and less fun shadow.
agreed 100%, the reason cata spri feels so good to play is mind flay being a modifier/ramper but then your dots do good dmg when snapshotting or set up for huge burst combos. It actually feels rewarding for getting cast off, TWW is harder to cast and less rewarding for casting, who in their right mind cannot see that. The meta in retail is becoming all instant cast casters which is basically ranged melee now so whats the point of playing a CASTer?? Cata spri isnt even that great in terms of meta but its at least fun and does get better s10/s11. The outplay potential gets way higher in those seasons because melee cleaves aren't as good.
thanks for the vid, its so hard to find any good SP Arena Vids. Overall SP Arena feels so slow and not impactful compared to other classes .... I'm really struggling with whether I should level SP at all.
idk if you play pvp or not much but you dont gota try to los the enemy more you sat way to much in the open allowing them to own you that first round...got lucky on that win
a lil absurd, id say shadowy insight should get a damage increase with the original design, making the mind blasts hit for 750-800k (gotta be reasonable)
Meh, imagine being an actual caster in 2024 when everything moves too much and deals damage while jumping with instant stuff. You have to cast even your burst buff, bruh.
Mixed feelings - I was hoping to see a burst setup build, but I guess the issue with Spike is still the need to cast. If the meta is to just pad and rot, then Affy is all around better.
Hm. At this point affliction warlock is the only DoT spec left in the game. And one that does damage too. Their dots hit really good, they don't have to invest into mastery to do dmg so they can just stack haste. They have malefic rapture and their core spec tree got a more streamlined and focused rework. Feels bad to be a shadow priest...
100% agree. If the job of a spriest is to just rot, then affy is just the better spec for that. Overall, healing is too strong for DoTs to matter early game.
50-70% of affli dmg is wither, a hero talant button, unstable affliction hits for 60k. Affli do play mastery, last season almost full mastery to do dmg. Most of the dmg outside of wither doesn’t come from dots, its raptures etc, affli has to cast all the time. Affli is waaaaaay squishier then sp, since they deleted big drain life AND nerfed every single passive and active defensive besides the big wall. Whazz and mes said it is now the squishiest caster. Also, best warlocks players, like mercy and infernion now play SP precisely because they say its better and more of a dot class then affli, a better version of affli. Funny, infernion even said it in the same words, sp is the only dot damage caster in the game he said. I, as a warlock main of 15 years (not very good, 2.4 player) never play affli over sp anymore also. So no, you guys are wrong
Affliction isn’t strong early ssns because there isn’t enough stats on gear to make their dots do real damage with mastery. To say Sp is a dot class though is just cope, the dots are purely used for the minor dispel protection and damage amps. The literally do nothing else

Remember in Legion I could aoe dot literally everyone and be oppressive, in BFA I could do the same but even more DOT damage could literally aoe farm an epic BG if no rogues stopped me. In SL all changed and I couldn't do shit anymore could just omegameme void volley x2 on people, would atleast still do some damage but literally gimped dot damage. Then DF comes and my dots are wet noodles, everything is about big unmanagable CDs flying everywhere game is literally autopilot class balance, can't kite, cant chase, takes 50 hours to kill one guy, sw:p literally does negative damage etc. So what's my experience gonna be in TWW, looks just like DF to me, a bit good with entropic rift to control people stacking on me but that's it XD. Also the entire prospect of literally AOE wiping an entire screen with Halo might look good on paper but that's not what I wanna do. Problem with actually buffing shadows dot damage is that its no longer about automatic class balance, it's about minmaxing ranging and preemptively and actively kiting/pushing forward, it's about actual skill and not about pressing big CDs to autoplay the game, it's designed for noobs to feel good about PVPing = more subscribers = more money. Was trying to be "happy" with shadow but honestly after 15+ years of shadow I'm probably rerolling into something that is actually viable XD. TL;DR, Maybe I'm wrong, I don't really think I am but TWW looks like a half-assed booster pack for DF(WoW2.0).
There's no way they are actually testing this stuff themselves.. was really hoping shadow might get a bit of love in tww but it's looking disappointing again yay 😒
