Interesting. I stopped HS around mid 2019-2020. Been playing TFT ever since. But in the past month ive been playing HS a bit mostly Battlegrounds and arena. Its some fun but TFT is still my main game
I am glad i found this video, i got into hearthstone battlegrounds maybe 2 years ago, and it was fun but there were times where i just had to stop and i wasnt even a content creator, i can imagine if your career is based on one game that can get old after a while. Cool that you are branching out into more games and stuff, it definitely makes things more interesting, good luck on finding some other game or content.
Why don't you do gaming editing videos on one channel. A lot of times people come for the content, and the stay for the creator. Splitting your content in different channels just spread out your success instead of accumulating it into one.
You should definetly try new genres. I can suggest some roguelike cardbuilding games such as slay the spire and pretty similar to its mechanics peglin. If you started to dive into a shooting stuff you can try some lootershooters (they dont have instatnt access to build making but still as a viable option), or you can try some ARPGS as POE (also game made by blizzard). The point is never let yourself forget about the whole world because of one addicting game and then become burnt out because of it. But also dont stop playing it until you get gist of its mechanics. Its all about balance.
I couldn't justify playing Hearthstone anymore cause games last 30 minutes..... or to be more precise, it takes at least 20 minutes to get 100 ELO, and only 5 minutes to lose it. I switched to Marvel Snap almost two years ago, games lasting 5 minutes is just perfect, been in competitive scene for a year now, never gonna look back, even though I still do love Hearthstone
You mention how Hearthstone creators rage 50% of the time, but honestly most of them don't really rage much at all. I personally almost never raged while playing BGs. I only rage at standard, because people actually choose to play some of the most insufferable netdecks possible. In BGs, it's all random, so I never found a reason to actually be upset. Funny enough, I've only played standard in the past 9 months. I miss your BGs content though.
because the game is literally mulligan simulator, enemy wins due to not his choices but if he draws his card or not, and most of the time they have the card and you dont
I'm not really into bg as much as regular hearthstone but you and ben set very high bars when it comes to informative content. You both helped me a lot to improve in bg and providing good content to watch!
I'm glad you're doing well. I don't really enjoy watching Valorant but I did my best to support that channel as it started growing (I didn't even know what shooter you were playing for like 5 or 6 videos cuz I'd never seen it before and you didn't say it in the first few videos lol).
I had been hearthstoning for 7 years straight and finally left, it's crazy to me that a lot of people I know from Twitch are willing to go at it for even longer.
I don't really know you, but as a casual player I'm interested in all sides of hearthstone and I really liked how open you spoke from a monetary perspective. It was very insightful. Good luck with your next stuff!
He talks a lot about making easy money with HS content creation. Having less fun playing the game. Comment section somehow ruining his fun. TLDR is he wants to make more money with content creation and that drives what he does.
Worst tldr ever, i literally said i love making content but that it's barely viable in Hearthstone if it's not gameplay, so I've been doing it in other niches (which makes less money)... and saying it's just the comment section somehow ruining my fun, you def skipped 90% of my video mate. If money is my only driver i'd have made a million different decisions
@@ItsBen321 struggling to see how my comment differs greatly from what u just reiterated... anyway, just add a pinned comment making ur own TLDR under this video
Hi, I just wanted to say that I enjoy your content because of you and not necessarily cool or “the best” gameplay. The other day I watched you stream backpack and really enjoyed it even though it was the first time I saw that game. So I’m kind of down for any content you decide to make 😄
I reduced my hours of playing a lot when they started charging for four heroes. I loved the fact that it used to be democratic and equal for everyone. Now, I still watch videos and play, but it feels wrong a lot of the time. There are bugs everywhere, and they’re not improving obvious little things, like the roulette that always says something like 'good opponents' or the time it takes for certain beast interactions. They’re adjusting things wrong, as if they don't really play or know the game. Then there are always the overpowered APM comps-if you manage to get a golden Brann, you win. If you want to try hard, Blizzard doesn’t give you all the tools to feel like it’s fair. And by 'try hard,' I mean reaching 10k MMR or even lower. The comps are limited, and there are always tribes that are unplayable, among other things. I totally understand why all the content creators are so exhausted. We can and must ask for more because Blizzard has all the resources to improve. They have the money, the fan base, and a product that already works
$15-20 every three months for four choices isn't a huge ask for an excellent game mode. Has to be monetized in some fashion, and even then the game is more than playable with only two choices. The only barrier is skill still. I made a second FTP account in the EU and have 400+ hours (3000+ main account) doing nothing but FTP Battlegrounds. Its still very generous and an excellent FTP experience.
man I gotta be honest I also stopped watching hearthstone because it was so stale, but so good to see you again man you're so cute. also had no idea we're the exact same age damn
re: Magic vs. Hearthstone online size, nope. Hearthstone is WAY bigger. I'm mainly a magic player, and the online play community is honestly not very big. The game as a whole is completely gigantic and dwarfs everything else, but online play is still niche because the economy is utter garbage on Arena, and the interface is utter garbage on MTGO.
I think even then Magic is still pretty regionally locked compared to Hearthstone, YuGiOh and Pokemon. Such a smaller Asian and Pacific audience, as well as the kinda mid Arena client.
Makes sense why you would do Valorant videos instead of Hearthstone. I always thought you were really underappreciated in the hearthstone community. The views you get don't reflect on how good and insightful your content is. I for sure understand why you are more likely to make videos in other games if you get way more appreciation of your work there
The drama isn't real - its mostly fabricated to get mass views. As a casual player, if I didn't watch content I wouldn't even know that the "Drama" existed.
Few more notes: -Don't unsubscribe yet! I might still upload when I feel like it, Hearthstone no longer is my job, but just for fun! -There's also a lot of personal changes this year that leads to my decisions. As you can tell I moved out and have been more busy figuring some things out. -My oldest videos from 8 years ago are privated lol, but you can still see where my journey started with pogo rogue! -My other channels I worked on are called: @MyNameIsBen @BensBackPack and @BenTheDeadlockMan
