Eh? You tapped the hole by hand rather than use the lathe to ensure coaxial threading? Blasphemy! The threads of your knurling wheel axle won't last long either! That said, the final knurling results are quite lovely.
I like the desing A LOT. But, yes there are buts: please countersink all of the drilled holes, you will have a much more tight fit when screwing things together and it will look more professional. LEDs need resistor in series because they are current drived and not voltage drived. As someone else mentioned, put a few of them in series.
nice pen man but on god, please oil the drill bits and get some new chucks. its a miracle none of the drill bits snapped during the drilling and some new chucks could have prevented the wiggle which caused you to to get the unevenes which had to be sanded of. maybe new drill chucks are expensive but oil shouldnt be that expensive
Well done But there is another way to get more accuracy when putting those piece in the lathe I blotted some aluminum rod in between the jaws, and when I go to use it without the jaws in place, I machine face it, they are removable, And if he did not have a mill He could have held that center piece on the carriage on the lathe and used a milling bit or even a drill bit to cut a real perfect slots .
