Very impressive! What an interpretation by Ted Neely. He is truly in the skin of Christ. His voice is sublime. I have the impression that this pain takes him through reflection to cross hell and I feel it in his wonderful voice. Cold in the heart. This song always destroys me. The saddest song in the world for me but what a pleasure to the ear. I cry!!!!!!

Lucky to see this in concert in Adelaide.. same cast. So long ago I hardly remember it but I remember mum bought the cd and I listened to it over and over and over! John Stevens was incredible ... they all were!
He’s the only one that has sung this without the screams, and it works perfectly. Baritones are better at the typical Jesus vocals, as tenors often don’t have the use of head voice as lower singers do. They have to do the screams often at full voice is which is unreasonable for most tenors

So many people compare GILLAN & NEELEY. l was actually working out this song when it gave me the suggestion to check TED NEELEY out. I’d never heard of him! I feel disgusted with myself as a muso. He is ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT. JUST as good as GILLAN to the naysayers. The passion besides the technique; GOBSMACKED! And unbelievably, l have so many muso mates that have been blown away too. I’ve seen it 3 times with different people. Nothing l’ve seen adds up to this. Thanks for this; I’m in tears: l just can’t play at the moment…… 😓😈✨❤️
