Great video. Snails? Fish? Thats the first I'd ever heard of it. I did once have a big worm underneath mu Montezuma forest. Bit difficult capturing it when your hands are occupied. It must have headed for greener pastures on a rainy day once back outside. Ha Ever done anything with liver worts? I get them in my bonsai I keep saturated. Kind of cool. with neat little flowering bodies.
Haha they're very easy to keep and help with the plants. I've sometimes had liverworts pop up spontaneously in other builds and they look kinda cool. Haven't seen them flower before. Maybe i'll keep a closer look on them in the future. Thanks for your comment!
Fish need way bigger fishbowls, pls do some research :( i love you videos and i thought that someone who loves nature and can create something that recreates nature so well would know this :(
Thank you for your comment. I did the research, and I thought It was juuuust enough. I was influenced by some Japanese enthusiast who also keep fish in optimal conditions but tanks or containers on the smaller side... I think these neon tetras (that are tiny, maybe juvenile) will only be here temporarily. Thank you for your concern. Cheers!
Hello! I usually let the little snails do most of the work. I occasionally do water changes and I've heard the little plants also contribute to keeping the algaes at bay. Thank you for your comments. Cheers!
I don't think you have a convert here. Such a big bonsai collection and so many plants indoors and out. I've ran out of space a long time ago. I do have a 1 gallon wine glass and the largest brandy snifter ever and a huge antique glass brick open at one end. Plus a rock collection. You see? Space. But its the well lit territory I'm really lacking. I think I'd go with the bell jar approach for easy access. Your knew type of moss introduction looks really interesting but that was an earlier video. I think I better add miniature ferns to my winter study project.
Where do you collect your material from. I live nearly in the "moss capital of the world". I suppose that title goes to the west coast of Vancouver Island or Haida Gwaii. I use a 4" drywall spatula to lift it off my driveway and use it like wall to wall carpeting on the floors of my bonsai.
Hello! I collect the moss i use from damp places around my town. I live in Mexico, in a very tropical place.. so it's scarce and very well adapted to hot weather. I have another video where I make a moss terrarium where you can see one of such places. Very rarely have I collected it from other places like mountainous forest near my city. I keep them in well watered and well lit places to propagate it. Cheers!
Lycophytes and liverworts are cool too. I water my Montezumas so much I get them competing with my moss. They have interesting looking fruiting bodies. This winter I'm planning on studying up on different types of mosses and lycophytes.
That sounds like an interesting project. I've liked moss and found it fascinating since I was a kid. Must be nice to live somewhere where it grows naturally and so easily. Thank you for your comments!
