Oh man...Do whatever you want. Dude, you got some massive stones to get in the car after the Frau said that. I've been married over 20 years and I know when I hear those words, you say, "what do you want to do babe?" I have a soft spot for the E36. I had a 328i Coupe and loved it massively.
You guys finished second place, what a close race it turned out to be. Too bad so much fog, it could have been a different race had it gone through the 24 hours.
Such slow paced "track walk" videos of yours are stellar input for anyone visting the track for the first time. Especially for the places they changed and e.g. some of the tricky curbs and trackside conditions of some corners. Those nuances can't be seen from onboard videos. People who have learned the track from racing sims will need every bit of extra surface information, regardless of the speed they are having their first laps.
A race ban for a first time offense is a bit harsh, I would definitely appeal that. Yes, the rules are there for a reason but people make mistakes, there has to be a middle ground for situations like this.
Was the speeding in the Mühlenbachschleife? We were standing there, and in fact the signals were only visible very poorly. We just talked about someone‘s ganna miss it and a few seconds later one car just passed 3-4 others at quite high speed in the code 60 zone.
It was harsh, but it was nice that you took it as it came. I also loved Steve's attitude, he was there, explaining all over again to everyone that went to show support what happened, being humble and accepting his mistake. You guys are top. All of you. I really hope to see you race next year.
The nerve problem could be caused by your diet. Not enough iron or cortisol. It has several symptoms to check but only bloodwork can sort it out. (ringing ear, urgent need for sleep, or salty food) A restless-leg-symptom is also common for racing drivers. This happens when your gear or a seat rubs a nerve or close to your spine. It can feel numb or give you a false sense of intensity under load and horrible cramps at night. It needs rest, a massage or hot tub will help. But to prevent it you need to get rid of what is rubbing or build up muscles around it. This is no medical advice, just some experience mixed with your insights.
