BMW M44 is 85mm bore & only 6mm distance between bore (91mm bore spacing), there are not a lot of room to extend on bore, unfortunately; but that said, ITB is a possibility, so are high cam & high compression piston, lightweight conrod, and so on. I see plenty of modified M44 examples on RU-vid. Maybe Geo's E36 will be full of Vulcan-Alpha's item one day, like ITB, aerokit, and so on... one can dream, right?

You have to send this engine to Bruno at BDS Motorsport in UK, he is the master when it comes to extracting big power from a M44. He owns a near 300bhp NA M44 and does amazing work with cylinder heads.

Budget E36, all of us E36 owners know that painful lie

Good old wrenching together ,getting things in your face,going home tired, bruised and repeat again the next day😅 I once received a wrong set of Dimple magnetic drain plugs for BMW .M22x 1.5 and M12 x1.5 thread size.If you can use them i'd be happy to donate them to Geo. These are very strong magnets ,better then most aftermarket ones.

GEO deserves the world. mans been blessing IG feeds with HEAT for ages. It's time to give my man his flowers and all the good engines.

If you look at the bonnet hinges there are 2 small screws. If you undo these it allows you to lift the bonnet further back allowing engine removal and windscreen fitting without removing it .😉

What's crazy is a few years ago I owned two E36 318is'. One was a coupe in that same silver green and the other was a mtech limited edition 5 door in avus blue. Seeing those two cars in this video really brought it back. I guess the simulation is doing it's thing! I sold the green coupe on pistonheads and it was 'shed of the week'. In the comments I posted a photo of the avus blue car and in the reflection you can see the coupe. I should have kept them both as they were very clean with under 100k miles, but I sold them for £1k each. 😞

I have myself a bmw e46 318i very nice car to drive and drift. It works well as a winterbeater...
