First time I heard this song wax after a team of multi-colored spandex-wearing superheroes helped saved a city from a giant mechanical purple guy made of ooze.
Before Hollywood went hollyweird and music wasn’t a woke-a-fied mess we had rock bands paying homage to our brave servicemen and women. Cher on a battleship and Diamond Dave singing a rock love song to the Statue of Liberty 🗽 titled Yankee Rose.
Keep the DREAM!! Don’t let go!! I’m facing my own demons right now and it’s ALL IVE GOT LEFT: ReFocus.. ReSet.. ReClaim your own Fame! No shame in the game.. When you’re DREAM is your NAME! 1st saw the Angels in 1964, 8 years later joined USAF since sinking in ocean not a desire. However, Blue Angels will always be the best.... Ya above USAF Thunderbirds.
The A-4 Skyhawks may have been the best aircraft the Angels ever utilized. A little info: Those are A-4F's [aka the Superfox] powered by Pratt & Whitney J52-P-408 engines, same engine that was later used in the A-4M and also the Grumman EA-6B Prowler. Fleet A-4F's had additional avionics equipment carried in a large dorsal compartment and on top of the vertical stabilizer; these were removed for the Angels to save weight and drag. Additional structural mods included bolting the leading edge slats in the "up" position [A-4 slats are gravity/air-stream activated, not hydraulic] for safety during all the aerobatic maneuvers. Mid 70's to early 80's I was on active duty staff training Marine Air reservists at NAS Jacksonville & NAS Cecil Field flying A-4F's [Navy hand-me-downs]. During my tour, on one occasion we were ordered to transfer one of our aircraft to the Angels as a replacement. Pretty cool. MGySgt - Retired
I SAW LAST SKYHAWK SHOW IN NIAGARA FALLS NY WHEN TWO PLANES CRASHED INTO EACH OTHER ONE PILOT KILLED. THEY MADE SWITCH TOF F 18'S AFTER THAT. SEMPER FI RIP
