Absolutely fucking epic.

I was only a seventeen year-old kid when this album was released and even today I feel goosebumps everytime I listen to this song and watch the video. What an endless music!

2024 and still watching. Seeing them land all together gives me goosebumps!

Never saw this before. I was a plane Captain with an A4 squadron in mid 80's. The Blues crashed one of their planes and came and took mine as a replacement. This was back in 85. It was the only A4E we had at the time. I'm not sure which one they replaced, but someone said it was number 4. Little Scooter was a terror in the air. Ops boss kept it for himself when scheduled to fly. A year later one of our pilots put her replacement into the ground outside of Fallon. They never replaced her after that. They brought in another TA4J instead of an E. She's either in a museum or on static display in front of some base somewhere now.

I’ve been looking for this video. The original as aired on MTV back in my childhood. I grew up watching these Skyhawks at air shows.

I miss the A-4 days for the Blue Angels. Always thought their colors looked best on that bird.

I never ever gave the A4's a chance. I was in the USN and always thought what FOOLS to change from F4 to A4 and then later on F18. Watch all the teams and I am sorry even the F8F BearCats. The A4 was the GREATEST Blue Angels team ever. Best formations, close, EXTREMELY CLOSE and take off and landings, watch till the end all 6. Then they were told to stop. Air Force Thunderbirds (TBs) even CRINGED watching the Angels. The first time I saw TBs, I was unimpressed, 2x2x2 takoff of, what? and the landing was more depressed 1x1x1x1x1x1 - SO STUPID. Ticks me off when everyone thinks USAF is the greatest and we all know the truth. NAVY rules.

I worked in Sanfrancisco for many years for Aireborne Express then DHL , the blue Angels came to sanfrancisco every year for the Navy’s fleet weeks, i saw them practice many times, the G force of the Angels flying over head shook the ground , they mad me proud to be an American

The A-4 Skyhawks may have been the best aircraft the Angels ever utilized. A little info: Those are A-4F's [aka the Superfox] powered by Pratt & Whitney J52-P-408 engines, same engine that was later used in the A-4M and also the Grumman EA-6B Prowler. Fleet A-4F's had additional avionics equipment carried in a large dorsal compartment and on top of the vertical stabilizer; these were removed for the Angels to save weight and drag. Additional structural mods included bolting the leading edge slats in the "up" position [A-4 slats are gravity/air-stream activated, not hydraulic] for safety during all the aerobatic maneuvers. Mid 70's to early 80's I was on active duty staff training Marine Air reservists at NAS Jacksonville & NAS Cecil Field flying A-4F's [Navy hand-me-downs]. During my tour, on one occasion we were ordered to transfer one of our aircraft to the Angels as a replacement. Pretty cool. MGySgt - Retired

I’ve seen probably 50 Angels practice and air show flights, Hornets and Also Snowbirds and -38 Thunderbirds. The end of the show A-4 shows were the best of all. I’ll be coming back many more times. When that slot pilot slides over and up I hear Eddie Van Halen!

I was 16, when this came out, Can't tell you how many times this ran through my head in study hall!! I became a pilot (commercial and instructor) because of this video. in a weird twist, that summer of 86 I saw them in Peoria, IL and that day I came home turned on MTV and right at that moment this video was playing... hows that for strange timing!

Amazing how they keep the close formation ! A pleasure to watch !

I've always loved this video and the updated versions which show the latest generation of F-18 Blue Angels are also excellent.

Doesn't get more 80's than this. Van Halen, and the A-4 blue Angles. It's amazing how manuverable A-4s really were! Not bad for a plane designed to be a light attack plane, that serves in Vietnam! Love it!

1st saw the Angels in 1964, 8 years later joined USAF since sinking in ocean not a desire. However, Blue Angels will always be the best.... Ya above USAF Thunderbirds.

This video reminds me our pilots in the Malvinas war (falklands) they used the same a4 and made things almost imposible.
