Looks like he is driving up the hill from Mission Bay Park in San Diego, and heading into Clairemont. Then, eventually jumping onto I-5 south, then I-8 east.
How have so many of these old school buses survived in CA? I can't find an old school bus in the Northeast to save my life. Thanks for keeping them running.
Gillig and Crown made tandem axle buses for more riders and bigger loads, think of taking a bus full of football players and their gear to another school or long trips, bands and all their instruments and uniforms
@marklintwo From 9th gear downshifted to 1st.. my bus few years ago.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rRV3oyoujow.htmlsi=Bi0DZMbAZZGP-0p-
@bikdav Some old school buses have less horsepower. This one only has 185HP, 10 speeds are great climbing hills with full loaded of students sure helps alot.. if there are no students on the bus and drive on flat roads, driver can skip gears shifting.. start off line on 2nd or 3rd, skip to 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th.. 10 speeds are optional, 5 speed are standard as good for in city or town with not much hills, This video is just for showing purpose as drivers loves to shift all gears to enjoy.. 🤘
I,ve,,msr,T, young Rome Truly love,s Driveing all cound,s of yellow school busses Cross country on the Highway 🛣️🛣️ at Night some, time,s in the day meaning in the morning as well
And to think my school district went out of their way to buy these buses, just because they were so popular with the drivers. We must have had dozens of these, my middle school alone needed ~8 buses to get the kids home every single day, and about half of the middle schools were bussing kids around.
My old bus driver when I was a kid always fascinated me watch her drive only toched that clutch to start and stop and made that bus zoom...especially on field.trips. Shed be rolling! Great vid so awesome to see you drive with such skill! Killin it! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾Any driver on these knew hownto really drive! Cali Crowns!
The 6L71 N Detroit Diesel engines were equipped with the Fuller 5-10 speed manual transmission along with the Cummins 855 or 230 engines but i actually seen one with the 6L71TA Detroit Diesel engine with MT647 Allison Transmission a different combination
