Good morning Chuck Paige & Family! Do Thai construction workers use pneumatic air tools at all? Enjoy watching the renovation videos! I wholeheartedly agree with your opinion about your contractor and crew. Agree with your observation about government regulations involving the public limiting individual basic freedoms. Government shouldn't be in control of your mind and body within reason, of course! Paige is such a good daughter in caring for her parents. Interesting and enjoyable video! Good fortune, health, fun and happiness to everyone. Above all, stay safe
17:45 Thailand actually has very similar EHS rules & regulations to the West. The big difference is LITIGATION. Without litigation culture you can opt how far to take your adherence to the regulations. Why do the govt regulators allow this lackadaisy adherence to the regulations? - Because Thailand is a developing country and many of these rules & regulations are simply not achievable in rural areas. The rules & regulations remain in place as a goal to continually try and achieve fully.
Be excellent to each other - Bill No better words have ever been said. I appreciate seeing your progress and you sharing your experiences. The more I watch the more it helps me feel good about visiting Thailand and helping solidify my retirement plans
To all the people in your comments talking about enjoying your renovation videos. Do you know there are many English language Thailand building RU-vid channels out there showing house builds for expats.
I am also surprised at the "material" choices for doors etc. -- Of course, wood is available, but some nice doors are made from composites the termites/mold don't eat.
We just did the same thing with a bathroom door. Evidently, those "short" doors were popular a few years back. -- Now it would be a special order with few design options. - I was surprised the "builder" said - "just cut the wall for a bigger door." as if it was a normal day for him. - TIT -- (This is Thailand) - things are different... Not better or worse... just different.
Hi Chuck and Paige so it’s not like the hotels and restaurants if you leave a negative comment they try to sue you so you got to be very careful what you say on Facebook and other social media outlets but the people you seem to have seem to be very good and the most important thing you’re happy with their work
Health and safety in the UK is just as bad as America they have gone too far in my opinion, as you say if it hurts then you won't do it again, i worked in the gas, oil and wind industries and its the most regulated industries in the uk you have to jump hoops to get the contract's but the work force is always monitored by health and safety but turn a blind eye if the director tell them i ended up with white finger syndrome which has permanently damaged to my hands due to using a router and sander constantly over 12 hours shift 6 days a week for 5 months. Hopefully i will be retired to Thailand in a few years i love the country with its rich heritage culture and traditions.
Done my apprenticeship on construction sites, have WHS qualifications. Wore all the safety gear because of WHS regs....at home, no hard, zero safety gear. It's all down to common sense my friend...great video Chuck !!! Totally agree with your comments mate 👌
I did a small job requiring concrete grinding and was cleaning the dust from surfaces for weeks. Everytime I picked something up or opened a cabinet I would find more dust! I even had a skin rash from it. It was so annoying.
Hi Chuck and Paige Good builders/workers are hard to find now in any country , glad you got some good workers for your project, as for health and safety in just about anything here, well that’s a whole new discussion , I laugh / cringe at the same time when I see the workers sweeping the middle of a 3 lane road with a broom or painting the concrete centre divider on the road and there’s a person 20 yards away waving a very small flag to warn speeding motorists to move over , they just get it done using their tried and tested methods Regards Davy 🏴🇹🇭
I sure do enjoy your videos! I have been watching a few years and never comment. I thought it was about time to thank you two for your entertaining videos.
Good morning Chuck Paige & Family! You got lucky with your Contractor & Crew, professionally conscientious, organized and meticulous. Making good progress on the renovation. Good fortune, health, fun and happiness. Stay safe
I sincerely appreciate you for your great work. Most may say or see you as a mistake or ATM is it's normally referenced to Farang. But the truth remains, your building lives, building communities and building a nation. You're awesome, one Love my Senior Comrade.

In tropical Asian countries, especially in rural areas, people do their construction work wearing their usual daily attire but of course its a different thing if the construction project is huge and in an urban setting and also if the construction company handling it is a big one, then they have to strictly follow safety protocols. Problematic construction workers are not only in Thailand. They're anywhere, any country. But same as reliable, honest workers too like what you've found.
