Did you and him both not bother propping up the motor while the lower mount was removed? The upper mount alone holds the engine in place well enough to swap out the lower...?
Hi Lawrence! Hope your well. How are you getting on with this? I’ve been advised to replace mine but not sure to go down the route of buying a new mount and the power flex bush or just get the bush and install it in the old mount. Thanks for this video 😊
hi nice video i have one question : do you remapping the ecu after instal the downpipe ? you don't have a default code whit the sensor ? thank you for your futur reply
Thanks for the video, I just order this and the Upper Engine Mount Insert Kit, hopefully removing the upper engine mount is as easy as this one on your video. 100 Nn = 73.756 Ft-Lbs
How hard was it to chisel out lol. Waiting on my part be in tomorrow cant wait for me to install. I also got yellow powerflex bushing for upper right mount. Looks like 4 yellow bushings and insert in on engine mount
Yesterday my powerflex bushings arrived, for the lower engine mount and upper right engine mount and upper left gearbox mount. I think i install it in two weeks. Got so much problems with my Mini Cooper S... My 5000km old original engine mounts are damaged, my engine jumps up and down, forward and backward, my wheels are hopping. I think my driveshafts are damaged but they look good. I hope the new mounts with the powerflex bushings are helping. You allready install your mounts with the bushings, how it feel? Sorry for my worse english, i am german😅🙈
Agree with you regarding oil dipstick. So wish the car had one, or at least the option to fit one. You can tell a lot from examining the oil on the stick. Another pet hate I've found with the F56 over my old R56, is the ease to upgrade or change parts. The Mini is perhaps one of the most modern cars to be modified. Why can't they just made it easier to do? Still I'm loving my car so far.
Just got this done using your guide and I'm so happy with the difference in low gears at low speeds, the shifting, and the more consistent inertia under braking. Took quite a bit of effort to get those bolts off since I think I'm the only person to do it on my 2014 MCS, plus getting the bushing out is a pain, but well worth the upgrade. Thanks for the tips!

Do you know what size centre cap it is? Also is it a sticker or is the a physical clip? I have the same but want to know before I take the wheel off 👍🏼
Hi there, I want to do this my self aswel could you tell me what kind of tools I need, I saw some kind of torx bault? Did you do this with out a bridge ? Hope you can reply to me. Kind regards
Hi,I’m currently De-Chroming my F56 and wanting to replace the filler cap with a black genuine mini part NOT a stick on part. Will mini sell a genuine replacement. The door handles and the Belt line are the next two jobs to do so can’t wait for you to do a video on them.👍
Bro... I purchased the dp, and while installing, there is a gap. but that extension that you show in min 7:15 doesn't come with it... do you have the part number by any chance?
Strictly speaking the scuttles are the holes in the wing where the indicator is mounted. My F56 Cooper S also has large plastic pads on which the sticky is mounted. £120 for a pair. If they are already fitted it is impossible to get them off.
support a new RU-vidr, check my video of me painting my brake calipers and subscribe to me and I will definately return the favour - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DaxGjhFBo5A.html THANK YOU 👍
Does the milltek decat once fitted give some pops and crackles once fitted. I have a standard dp on my mini r55 clubman cooper s. I was going to replace my dp for a milltek dp and fit a scorpion catback system
Class video I’ve fitted a scorpion one, how did you go about sealing the turbo connection? I’ve fitted it fine but now have a slight smell of fumes inside the cabin when at a standstill
@@LawrenceHorsfall I'm still having fun in mine but thanks, good to know the standard clutch can take it. Guess even std parts with std spec can get destroyed. I was thinking of the JCW pro but it's alot in these times in 2020.
Hiya mate I’m a bit late to the party here, but I’ve got a 2016 cooper S with the JCW pro kit and I’m thinking about taking it dervtech for the stage 1 tune. Obviously the power and torque gains speak for themselves but in terms of real world performance how different is it? Eg 0-60, 60-120 etc? Big boost on the top end?
Hi thanks for this great video. I see you changed your wheels as well. How did you sort out the tyre pressure monitor system? I am trying to change my wheels as well, but not sure how to make the pressure monitor work with the new wheels. Did you just place the original sensor on the new wheels? Do they match with each other?
@@LawrenceHorsfall Ok I see. Thanks for the explanation. I guess your aftermarket wheel's centre bore doesn't fit the hub of Mini Cooper perfectly right? Did you use the spigot rings? If yes, have you run into any problem with the spigot rings? It is interesting that one of my local garages told me that they won't fit wheels that need spigot rings, because they has caused their customers some problems before.
@@shuokaipan4653 I used plastic spigot rings and all they are for is to ensure the wheel is located centrally then when you bolt the wheel on the spigot ring has no stress on it at all. the only downside to plastic rings is at track temps they can melt.
@@LawrenceHorsfall I need to ask you another thing. How did you loosen the anti-theft lug nut on the original wheel? I used the lug nut key and a breaker bar, but every time the key and the 21mm socket would just pop out when I pushed on the breaker bar. This is because the key can't fit on the lug nut tightly enough. So did you have this problem as well? I tried to untighten it using a power drill, but it still failed.
I got a 2014 F56 Cooper with 39.000km and it needs a motor mount replacement and the car is in excellent shape its so bizarre for a car with that many km to need a motor mount replacement, great video!
I had well under 20,000 miles on my 2017 Cooper S when mine went bad. Apparently mine actually tore according to my Mini tech, and they did it under warranty.
Great video, just one comment. If you can spare money on upgrades you should invest in a proper tool to wind back the piston, they’re designed to be wound £15-25 for the tool and you don’t risk wrecking the piston!
