I’m a 36 year old, male and I’ve been thinking of going for my masters in psychology. Single, no kids but thinking of adopting a 7 year old. If I got for it, I might graduate at 41 since I would have to change from an under graduate in computer science. My mom went back to school at 63.
Thank you. This has always been my dream degree, but I'm almost 33 and have been worried I'm too old. This helped ease my mind a lot for when I go forward with my degree. 💜

I’ve recently done sport in college for 3 years. Plan was to do sport with disadvantaged/disabled kids. I’d still like to do that but I think the market is very small for it and I’m thinking about becoming a support worker as even though my preference would be sport the point was to ultimately help them. Plan is to do a course in college or uni but not sure what course would be best for me? I want to teach people with disabilities basic life skills and to see them progress and become more independent. Plan is to do a course and something along side that like a part time job or volunteering! To put on my CV to show I have experience. What would you suggest in terms of course??

Thank you so much for making this video. I applied for a Recovery Support Worker job a month ago. Yesterday they called me in for an interview. Interview was today (short notice, eh). Within two hours, they tell me I got the job!! You had some useful tips so kept those in mind. This was such a helpful video :)
I had been thinking of changing career and going to undergraduate in psychology to then become a clinical psychologist to help people and to have job satisfaction knowing I am helping people. I am 31 and was questioning if I am to old to be embarking on such a drastic change, but now you have giving me the boost and confidence to pursue this major change. thank you!

I've just began volunteering at MIND 😊💜 I'm volunteering within the CBT service as a telephone/face to face support worker for those undergoing CBT Therapy. Super excited. 😊✌️
I'll like to volunteer at MIND also, I don't know how to go about it as I am willing to work remotely. Can you perhaps help to guide me on how to go about it?
@@ayokanmiaremu2889 hey you need to contact your city's local MIND and see what volunteer opportunities they have. Then you apply for for the role via an application form. If theyre interested in you you're then invited for an interview and if you're successful again they then require to run a DBS check on you. I'm not sure exactly what online/remote volunteering opportunities they have as all the roles at my local MIND are face to face. I hope this helps, good luck.

Great video and helpful tips!, when did you start applying for these roles when you were in 3rd year? I’ve seen some great opportunities but it’s probably a bit to early to apply but I don’t have mum interviews experience and a lot of them seem to be online so idk if I should go for it or not?

I'm so glad that you posted this, I'm currently taking a gap year after getting poor CAG results from my sixth form which means that I'll be (hopefully) entering uni at 20 instead of 19 years old and it was really stressing me out.

I'm researching my career options now as I'm in my final year and can't seem to decide whether to do clinical or educational psych doctorate, honestly, I'd prefer to do counselling but don't think I could afford it. Just wondering if you chose to do this masters in the end?
