I love farming especially in games that provide items with different stats or part because then it just makes me want to farm even more to get that 'god-roll' item. Farming is also a nice way to shut my brain off so that I don't have to really think about what I'm doing and can just focus on the farm :)
Watching and taking feeback so they can ignore and sidestep it more efficiently. After the horrid story in 3,whatever the hell New tales was and the recent RoR2 debacle I have no hope for any future Gearbox products.
It really depends. To me, farming can be a nice thing and very rewarding when you get the drop, but within reason. I find farming in Borderlands 2 to actually be incredibly insulting towards the player. Everyone wants perfect gear, let's face it, but to actually acquire some gear in perfect form, you'd actually need a second life time to farm. I remember farming for a perfect bee shield a while ago, the drop rate on that is horrendous. Even using mods to speed up the farm (spawn multiplayer and teleport) it took me what felt like forever, I could only imagine doing that without mods and reloading every few minutes, just sheer pain. But some farms can be somewhat pleasant. Drop chances just need to be amended. I'm not just refreshing a quest reward, I also need to kill the enemy so yeah. Not saying everything should be super easy to get, just not impossible, as it will eventually become a drag, and no motivation will be enough in the end.
i like that the cards explain what the weapon does, returning to this game after years of not playing is there a mod that does this for the base game weapons?
my main issue with farming, is exactly as you said in the video, the act of farming itself is so often boring in borderlands, spawn in > run to enemy > kill in a few seconds > repeat, its a really brain off unengaging activity, just to then eventually get the reward so i can do the actually fun exciting content the game has it just feels like the game is saying "hit yourself in the foot with a hammer 10 times and then we'll give you a cookie" its nice and all but, cant there be a better system? doing content like takedowns and the cartels event in 3 was a lot of fun, big engaging activity with lots of rewards, id just love to see farming and looting moving away from the dedicated drops system and give us more "real" activities that have us actually having fun the whole time, rather bored for 10, 20, 30 minutes just for the promise of later fun
I got into the Borderlands games because of the amount of farming you can put into the game. They also helped me gain a better appreciation and understanding of how other games have their loot systems set up. What killed it for me though was Borderlands 3. Even though the drop rates were "good", there really weren't when factoring in the dang parts system. With the parts in play, almost every drop had a massive independent range of performance. The same exact weapon could both be absolute dog, and a raid boss melter. I remember most drops being a 1/10 or 1/20, but that genuinely didn't matter since most of the time you're spending at least an hour just for a barely better piece of gear
That means this whole time i was speedrunning ?! MOM I DID IT ! I'M A GAMER ! Joke aside, i love farming games. Either it be farming in borderlands, legendary farming in fallout 4, farming a specific race/job in the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance games, farming material in Dragon's Dogma for upgrades, farming for a new attack/item in dragon ball xenoverse, etc. I love the feeling of struggling to get what i want, the feeling of satisfaction and proudness after getting it, and even more if i enjoy using what i farmed for. So yes, i love farming.
Farming is what I love about borderlands I always wanted the perfect roll class item for my build or meta gun. But in bl3 made it such a chore especially weapons that can roll with 8+ different parts and then anointments one of the worst things to be added in the series.
i love farming when the kills are satisfying like boreing Bnk3r or gate crushing master gee. If the kill isnt fun or satisfying i find it to be annoying and just dont bother trying
the reason some cutscenes are 30 fps and some aren't is the same reason as in bl2, some cutscenes are simply mp4 files being played at a prerendered 30 fps and some are rendered in real time allowing for higher fps
Depends on the day for me. One day I'll be hard pressed to run the same thing more than 5 times. Then the next I'll decide I want the dove hornet hybrid in bl1 just for the sake of having it.
I never farmed for any loot until I started watching your videos and learned that there were interesting weapons with predictable drop rates and formulaic ways to earn them. I now relish in farming for interesting loot and sharing it with more casual friends that I play with.
I like farming but I much prefer BL3 over BL2. Since the stuff is on level, I can knock that off the list. Getting a perfect Harold but on lvl 78 is ball busting. I also don't have to worry too much about parts in BL3. And with the abundance of legendaries, I always find something for my other characters. Even if I don't get what I want or need, I'm not getting out of it empty handed.
This was honestly such a great video. Personally I can farm an item and just get lost In space until I actually get the piece of gear that I need. Granted I am usually listening to music, podcasts, live streams, or even other yt videos (unless it is my first play through of the game)to make it seem not so mindless. Farming certain items can be almost therapeutic depending on the efficiency and “fun” aspects of the farm. No one wants to far a 1/100…. But if it’s gonna greatly impact my build I’m gonna go for it.
Personally i'm fine with farming, because if you want something, you have to earn it, BUT the randomized parts are a bit of a letdown, take the fastball of bl2 for example, if you roll the lowest damage possible it is still strong, but It won't oneshot badmaw, so it slows you down just because you had bad luck with the roll. Borderlands 3 did better with the parts but ruined it in endgame with the annointments, and also the too much generous drop rates, so in the end i would like something in between, i am speaking just for the bordelands franchise, with other games i usually don't farm, except maybe the souls games and elden ring for some armor parts but that is just for fashion.
I'm favoured only God knows how much I praise Him, $230k every 4weeks! I now have a big mansion and can now afford anything and also support God’s work and the church.
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!
I remember giving her my first saved up $20000 and she opened a brokerage account with it for me, it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
I love the shorter informational videos between play throughs. Keep up the good work joltz. I like farming for short periods of time I can do like an hour before I get tired
I like farming for gear because I love seeing my character steadily become stronger. Plus, it's also relaxing when I just want to chill without needing to do some high-intensity gaming. Plus, being rewarded with the item you desperately farmed is an incredible feeling.
I usually like grinding but not in borderlands games. It isn't well made for multiplayer to keep save quitting and remaking lobbies. You could farm together solo but I doubt a lot of people would split up to grind when you intend to play together.
I’ve always thought farming requires a balance of time put in to reward earned. Like say you are farming something considered above average it shouldn’t take hours upon hours to obtain it just for it to get drowned out by something more common only hours later. Where as I don’t expect something that is capable of huge potential and is considered very rare to be farmable in like 20 minutes because then the reward doesn’t feel earned. That’s not saying you can’t put something fun or gimmicky behind a grindwall for fun, or the inverse of making it really easy to get but it just so happens to have huge potential if used specifically. This just means that for the majority of items they should follow a formula of being more rare and more time being put into them for how much potential they have across the majority of players. This is also why I really disliked Borderlands 3s legendary system.
