Normal mode complete! QOTD: What is your favorite action skill in Borderlands 1?

I just wanna say I love Joltz’s form of humour. Instead of just spamming recent memes and clips for jokes he just makes his own like Lionel saying not 5 times it’s honestly super refreshing and makes his videos so fun and stand out for me.

Lilith was always my favorite. I was pretty young when BL1 came out, and the idea of going invisible at super speed and then elementally exploding people around me was so cool. Brick was my 2nd favorite because SMASH.

Brick was my first playthrough on BL1, I mean his action skill is literally throwing hands instead of shooting how do you not have fun doing that?! 😂

Mordecai with Bloodwing was really cool. Especially the 0 cool down setup.

Bloodwing, she chained hits, healed the damage, dropped money and health vials, stunned enemies, she was just super versatile

It's super basic, but Roland's Sabre Turret was always my favorite, it didn't have the dependability issues that Bloodwing had, and while it wasn't nearly as flashy as the exploding fists or Phasewalk, it was just this consistent, reliable companion. It's the reason Axton was my first character for BL2 as well, then Wilhelm for TPS in turn.

Who doesnt love running around as a pretty 7ft3 siren smashing things with your explosive fists in bl1? Has to be my favourite by far.

6:17 my favorite thing about joltz's videos is that,even after so many playthroughs,years of farming and grinding,he STILL gets excited when something really good drops

Scorpio turret is my favorite action skill in BL1, mainly because of the ammo regen. I love being able to spray bullets everywhere and not run out.

I always really loved Lilith's phasewalk. Everyone had a fun action skill, but it was so much fun to run around in that, and it was really cool to find out how it's used in speedruns.

I love bricks action skill, the punching is so funny when you get stuff like sting like a bee, makes me feel so powerful

Brick was always my favourite growing up, but recently I played Bl1 again and picked Roland and fell in love with his turret. Being in a pinch, throwing his turret down right beside cover then hiding as I heal and it kills everything was a new, yet really fun way to play

I like the series and I got a laugh out of you putting 5.4 Kilogrammer instead of 12 pounder 🤣

Brick was my favorite action skill, brings back memories of me and my friend playing brick and just running around punching stuff, we couldn’t stop laughing

QOTD: Definitely Lilith's Phasewalk. Being able to run around fast without being targeted and passively doing elemental damage and burst novas was great. And since DoT damage actually worked in that game, it literally let you melt through mobs.

That "Slab! Slab!slab!slabslb!" at 11:20 killed me lol

Honestly, Bricks action skill was great, something about a dude shooting you getting punched in the face is perfect for borderlands!

QOTD: i always enjoyed playing with Mordy and Bloodwing the most. having a little friend that will kill for you, loot for you and heal you makes the game much more enjoyable imo

100% recommend seeing Monty Python and the Holy Grail. A comedic masterpiece.

Qotd - Lilith's phasewalk, i like the speed it gives, and it is a nice escape button. The stunning is also nice.

Whenever I think about $5 footlongs i remember the fact that subway probably won't be around in 5-10 years.

QOTD: My favourite action skill is either Roland's Scorpio Turret, because it's effective at distracting enemies as well as regenerating your health and ammo, or Brick's Berserker Rage, because punching enemies into red mist while screaming like a madman never gets old.

I think you would love Monty Python Joltz, it's humor was way ahead of its time in a lot of ways and I think Borderlands in particular really draws from its absurdist, bizarre style of comedy.

Mordecai's Action Skill is probably my favorite one, Bloodwing has lots of versatility and she's one of the coolest pets imo

QOTD: Definitely Berserk. I love the idea of just throwing down your guns, in a game ABOUT guns, and just pummeling the crap out of someone with your bare mits

QOTD: Bloodwing, I remember back in the day if you spammed the action skill you could get like 8 Bloodwings to kill things. Both funny and strong.

QOTD: Easily Brick's skill. Basically only for the move speed glitch. Getting that 50% boost makes general gameplay feel so so so much smoother. Can't go back once you do it I swear.

Those intrusive thoughts definitely won there at the end. "Does this fire actually hurt?" Yes, yes it does.

QOTD: Bloodwing. I played BL1 after BL2, so when I found out you could put Explosive on Bloodwing, I died laughing.

Phasewalk easily. It has so much utility for getting around quickly or becoming temporarily invincible. Great inside and outside of combat.

multiplied spawn challenges are so fun because whenever jack says “im sending everything i have at you” hes not joking

QOTD: i loved liliths action skill, due to to its versetile nature, sneaking in a good spot to snipe enemies, using it to leave a difficult situation and many more made lilith my favorite character

I didn't play borderlands 1 but i love Mordecai's because of the old glitch letting you turn bloodwing into a beam of death

QOTD: Brick. There's nothin quite like dropping your weapons and screaming like a complete psychopath as you punch people so hard they explode.

QOTD Bricks secret punch them in the face until they die fighting style. Spamming punches ridiculously fast while doing the speed glitch was alot of fun

honestly for QotD, they all have their utility to make each character excel in different ways. Roland gets the best grenade jumps and some great all around utility (team healing and ammo regen), Brick can get constant speed and health regen (commonly used for the berserk glitch instead of actually punching things), Lilith gets even greater speeds and invulnerability for swift repositions for much easier Craw kills, Mordecai can mostly play bloodwing for extra resouces (aside from being the 1.0 speedrun king with endless bloodwings)

QUOD: As much as I love Bloodwing I have to give it up for the Scorpio Turret. That Turret has saved my ass many times during my first Playthrough of BL1. It also has everything, Ammo Regen, Health and Shield Regen and draws focus of mobs. Vs the Rakk Hive it was outstanding.

The best action skill in BL1 has to be pre patch mordecai. The beam of blood wings is so funny.

Borderlands 1 action skill was for myself, bloodwing. I loved just hucking out blood and watching the chaos XD

Bloodwing. You legitimately get to throw a homing death sphere with wings and get to hit up to five people at a time, while also being able to get extra loot. It's a good skill.

Phaselock uniquely gives the feeling of control over the enemy like no other action skill. Maya is the only character that doesn’t let stalkers punk me out

Berserk with brick! I mean who doesn’t love punching things, it also felt really good doing it.

For me it’s bricks berserk action skill. Just going around and punching stuff was always so fun. And it had that added bonus utility if you don’t use it when you go into your inventory right as you activate it.

QOTD: Phasewalk, the ways it can be used are really versatile depending on how you build Lilith.

QOTD: brick, I remember finding out about the speed glitch for the first time when you jump in a car mid skill activation (or just cancel out the skill by climbing in car)

I love Phase walking. A movement enhancement that would take me across the map super quick.

bricks action skill because the bug to pull up inventory and get more movement speed is very nice

QotD gotta be Phasewalk. At the least it's invulnerability, at end game it's travelling across a map faster than a car

QOTD: Phasewalk of course. You can boost your speed and get Crawmerax's behind so you can hit the back. Bloodwing and Roland's Scorpio deals very low damage above level 50. Brick's rage skill just for the speed glitch you will not use it most of the time.

QOTD: I gotta say scorpio Turret. I used to play with a friend of mine who went support Roland, and everything felt easier once that Turret came out

Brick his berserk ability to basically just rage and punch everything I love it. I really wish that they would add more mayonnaise, including like actual things that you could put on your hands in borderlands at some point they did a little bit of that with Wonderland, but not enough.

QOTD: Since you all act like we only had 3 vault hunters in BL1: Rolands 2nd target dummy was the best skill in the game,except of himself ofc ^^

Qotd: phasewalk. Bye bye enemies, I am now invincible, invisible and superfast. Allows easy repisition, deals dmg... 2nd would be Scorpio turret, but it feels weak and its duration feels too short.

I was really bad when I first played BL1, bloodwing saved my bacon but explosive brick punching could not be beat.

Mordecai was my first playthrough of bl1 probably why i picked fl4k for my first playthrough in bl3, and used gaige in bl2 mostly

Kreig is by far my favorite character

I like Mordecai's ability, it might be a bit of 'first character bias' but I really just liked sending out a bird to murk some unlucky bandit. Made it hurt 'that' much more when I first completed the wildfire preserve for the first time in bl2...

My favorite action skill is Bloodwing They are just a lil birb While other people would do co-op, the only bff i needed was bloodwing

QOTD: Probably Phasewalk. It seems so useless at a low level, and when you're inexperienced with the game. Like, a couple seconds of invincibility and a bit of speed? Pftt. But the more used to the game you get, the more skillpoints you get, you realize how useful it is. Longer phasewalk, health regen, shield breaking DoT. Using it to disengage and heal up before reengaging. Not to mention it's extremely useful against Crawmerax!

Day 18 of seeing if the next playthrough can be a joltz and k6 co-op
