Typical agitation from the tribe of usual suspects who never ever apply to themselves what they preach to others Communists killed hundred of millions , and all very poor people. Diaf
music too loud too distracting. sad tbh because it’s great work. i would turn it down by 6db heck its even too dynamic. Look at how Epochphilosophy does it.:)
Ranked Choice Voting plus popular vote for president would make the USA a real democracy/republic. It would allow every vote to count, and every position to have a chance for representation.
...frankyl you have it backwards. Technology is never idological. Metal doesn care. IMPLEMENTATION of technology is what can be ideological. Alas, his remarks about left not having funds to buy media were also stillborn. As since his passing media became way more accessible. Thus even if more left leaning thought wouldnt have spilled into media and governed it... ...it would still not be in any danger of going extinct. Though it does bear to point out, that maybe, if you movement is so despised (or ignored) that it cannot fork up the money for a proper press release.... ...then maybe, it has no business of ruling the world. As that is a damning evidence of how many people agree with your take on utopia.
Alas it always seem funny to hear any philosopher present their grand takes about technology or natural science, while not having the littlest purple fart of a clue about anything even adjecent to what he is raving about. Its even more ironic when it comes from a group of idiots that SHOULD have learned from lysenkoism
Tbh. there is jothing wrong with democracy scores. Arguably the only issue is people conflating democracy with stability, or a well managed state, that does well for its citizens. Frankly, that can happen with any form of state, be it a communist dictature like yugoslavia, or even an absolute monarchy. Issue is that with a democracy, there is some incentive for it to occur, thats built into the system of how the state works
I've watched 3 minutes and I believe you are clueless. "Climate Change" and BLM are both manipulation tools for the new world order, as is covid, the jabs, and all the other catastrophes they're unleashing upon us. I won't bother watching the full video.
I wonder if climate change will foster a form of asabiyyah, at least in the most vulnerable parts of the world (and as its impacts intensify)? Even though there are still climate skeptics, it is an unifying threat that societies will have to fight collectively.
Capitalism only works if people employ a hivemind come consumerism. Supply and demand requires artificial needs to be efficient. You get that through hivemind behavior. There $250.000 off the Harvard business school
Marcuse's thinking on the u.s. ought not to be controversial at all-to individuals that can think. That eliminates the vast majority of american adults-then and now.
Could it be that the most radical form of revolution would be for each individual to end personal identification with thought? I'd like to hear your thoughts!
I can see why modern philosophers hate him, redefining definitions to fit your theory isn't really intellectual. Ah yes, they make enough money to be happy and the system makes sense, how totalitarian. The US has always been voluntarily authoritarian, that's not exactly a breakthrough. There are more guns in the country than people, but rebellion never happens(there's a reason for that.) People are simple, if the government doesn't interfere much with life and I can feed myself, why would I care? We're more polarized than ever today specifically because our needs aren't being met, radicalization stems from hard times. It can get so, so much worse.
The American democracy system is very strong and interesting But Europeans can show the world that they have democracy For example, Clinton was about to be removed from office because of that scandal, which I don't think will happen in European countries.
Marcuse is a man that looked out at a society where people were well off and happy and said "No you're not. Youre miserable you just dont know it. I know it, though, because Im very smart and under stand Marxist ideology. That means you cant be happy under a Capitalist system" And then he whinged a bunch about tabboo sex being more fun.
Im a capitalist, and i believe that capitalism is a superior exonomic system than communism. However, i agree with a lot of what you are saying, and i do believe capitalism should be criticized for its many flaws.
Great video, over all. My only critique would be over something like abortion. That is political. The loss of Roe v Wade has an effect on the citizenry (at least in a few states). And there's other liberal order things at risk (minority rights, etc.). But in a way, these function to support your claims about the Two-Party Cartel. If the exception to "no politics" is the threat of loosing some civil liberties, it gives the Simulation of Democracy some teeth ("see it does matter!"), while still keeping real political solutions away from voters. Those political solutions (a third party, socialism, a party maverick, etc), since they could undermine "Our Team", are seen as implicit supporters of the Opposing Team. Even descent is used to make the Other Team seem more threatening, and is co-opted into supporting the hyperreality. In our system, you can only ever loose, you cannot win. It's amazing.
I dont discount the negatives of crony capitalism, but its hard to take Marxists or communists seriously when you have so outdone hitler with the body count. When I hear the recently pubescent voice narrating this, I feel a need to read you animal farm for your bedtime story.
33:01 Though the mob directed endgoal was undesiravke the initial observation was absolutely true LMFAO. This isnt identity politics because it stems from a universal condition of class not some superficial quality of birth. Look what the left has become in the Us is a prime example of what was observable by cultural revolutionaries in China. The children of the wealthy are born naturally biased against the struggle of the workingclass. They aren't incapable of solidarity but left uninterrupted they inherit the boot of capitalism. The irony of your critique is that these very people end up stratified their class material interest in ACTUAL IDENTITY POLITICS. Identity politics is outgrown of this class since they have divergent material interst from the workingclass "The liberalism that you talk about when you talk about identariansim, that is not an ideological hangover of liberalism that is a very active set of people pushing their material interests. The left in the United States is fundamentally and overwhelmingly a middle-class formation. ... it's the first left globally and historically that has no connection to the working class, to the poor, at all... Its disproportionately white but its ALL middleclass regardless of its color. In that setting when youre only bringing middleclass people into your organization a big chunk of them are gonna say "we dont want to hear about poverty, we dont want to hear about the economy, what we want to know is when we walk into a room why arent we treated well? When we apply for the salaried positions at six figure income that we think we have a right to, why are we making five percent less than the other guy.Thats what the middleclass on the left wants to hear about- Vivek Chibber marxist professor on the Michael Brooks Show 6/2020
Its weird that i feel more solidarity with the masses against the "bourgiese" academic class because i see the prevailing values of modern academics. Completely class insulated, identity obsessed often enablers of US imperialism, and apolgists for cenogided Nalistipe. The peasantry certainly had a point, i wish we could similarly assemble american poor and workingclass
"Peterson and Lindsay falsely accuse him of being a neo-Marxist and seminal figure (paraphrasing) of the New Left"... Rest of the video: how Marcuse was a neo-Marxist and seminal figure of the New Left.
The failure of the CR represents the limits of leninist state theory. As paul cockshott puts it: “in soviet-style states a socialist aristocracy eventually leads to a capitalist oligarchy”. Simply put, we need something better
Thank you for posting the first sensible appraisal of Marcuse I've come across. A great example of how many read their own views into a thinker especially one of the sophistication of Marcuse.
You miss something very important. The concessions granted by liberal democracies to their own dominated classes always come solely from slavery enacted on the colonies of these colonial countries. As the colonies free themselves and stop giving away their resources and labor then the ruling clases will be left with nothing to use for concessions to keep their system afloat, unwilling to actually loose any of their privilege. This may finally lead to their own oppressed classes rising up.
Thats factually not true though. Western countries benefit from imperialism, but not in that way. They benefit via lower prices via cheap labor, not because revenue from the global south is funding welfare programs lmao. This is factually just not true
@@1Dimee 23 B USD in taxes paid by Shell in 2023, all money from resources directly stolen from 3rd world countries. 14 B in taxes paid by Apple for products manufactured overseas. These are taxes on profit, so yes, they are based on the work and resources taken from outside the imperial core, paying directly into the welfare of those inside.
