Your POA valve sheet is wrong referencing 1977 - 1978 Lincoln, Mark IV and 1979 Lincoln, Mark IV. 1977 Began the Lincoln Mark V run, into 1979. 1980 Began the Lincoln Mark VI. Probably other misprints but I sighted in on those from your sheet.
@@prodieselrepair3218 I’m having a problem where it seems like my truck is low on power, replaced map sensor and icp sensor and I still can’t tell if it fixed the issue or not. I did notice that my truck shifts into overdrive around 45mph earlier today … is that a sign?
Great video...wish I would of watched this 2 weeks ago. Damn flex fuel option!! At least I have all new O2 sensors, MAP, Charcoal Canister, and fuel pump now in my Tahoe. LMAO....yes I do all of my own work but this could have saved many headaches for sure. Thank you! BTW my alcohol is at 59%.....Ughhhhhh
One thing to keep in mind, because it got me, is that there are different sending units. You have to buy the right gallon sending unit. Some of these online retailers don't tell you what gallon tank the unit is for. I have an 18 gallon tank. I bought a sending unit that was supposed to be for my truck, I got it and it kept hitting the bottom of the gas tank when I tried to put it in. It was only about an 8th inch off. I was unbelievably confused until I figured out that they sold me a 19 gallon sending unit instead of an 18 gallon unit. There was only a small difference between the two, but it was a gigantic waste of time and money for me. So watch out for that.
You are a fine human being my friend! I totally could not figure out why there was no fuse in the #27 position labeled " trailer tow battery charge (if equipped)" I was thinking my $75k dollar F350 didn't come equipped with a trailer charge line!! WTF!! Your video was amazing and right to the exact point of the same issue. I've since re-labeled the manual on #65 fuse😊. Thank you so much my friend. Huge help!!
This helped explain a lot. I just have a question, where does the vacuum supply inlet at on the control panel? My 79 isnt getting vacuum to the actuators and i cant find a vacuum line for it.
I have a 97 PS that intermittently wont get over 2,000 rpm, I've replaced injectors & wiring harness, IDM, fuel pump, main computer, throttle pedal, glow plugs & harness, fuel pressure regulator, fuel bowl, fuel lines, fuel tank screens, cam position sensor, ICP and IPR sensors
Thank you so much for your video. Bought the same replacement component over 2 years ago for my Mark. Difference is it's front passengers side mounted. Haven't gotten to doing the repair yet. Needed to see what your video showed. Antenna is up and won't come down. I know now after I get the inner fender wall off how to get the antenna apart so it can be retracted and removed for repair. Glad I waited 2 years 😁
Good video, I had the same issue on my 79 where the heat was stuck on no matter what, I removed the same valve and tested it with a vacuum pump and it didn’t seem to work, but it turns out it had an adjustment screw on it, I turned the adjuster in and the valve started to work, you can see which way you need to go by looking down the tube and seeing which way the lever pushes on the valve, depending on if yours is stuck on hot or cold, a couple turns in or out might get it to work again
I have an 85 ford E 350 econoline that has a 2 tank switch original.my problem is one tank doesn't register on the dash to see how much gas is in it, the other, does. How can I gat both tanks to show on the fuel guage? I run the non showing tanks first, and when it gets the odometer near what the miles are by miles per gallon, andhave to be ready to switches the tank runs out by paying attention, to switch at the right time. It would be nice to have both tanks registeron the Guage to make it easier. Any suggestions?
Check out my other video with a 1991 F350. I show how to check the wiring to each tank. I suspect you have a bad gauge sender in the tank or possibly a bad wire.
Thank You So much I have 1 the same year model and my accelerator pedal is 1 - 2 inches from the floor after it got stolen. Yes loss power try to shift especially in 1 - 4 . I have no codes though. Hopefully it's just the stretched cable.
I have he same problem with the low of hi pressure and I have change the iPop twice....myself. I will be checking and change out the pressure regulator.
None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. It’s how we recover from them that matters. You’re taking care of your customer so I’m hopeful that will be appreciated in the end and this doesn’t harm your business. We NEED honest mechanics and not dishonest ones so we can’t lose you brother! God bless~
I have not experienced that, but I won't say never. Anytime you crank an engine and it doesn't start you're missing something (fuel and high pressure oil most common). By the way yours seems to act I bet you have a high pressure oil issue
HELP. Anyone reading comments please help. New ICP New IPR. I can hear air leaking under the oil rail but cannot find where it's leaking from. New Dummy plug and New Standpipe. I have taken every injector out and see nothing wrong with the ORings.??? Where else can it be leaking at?????
@@prodieselrepair3218 Hmmm, it's a crank no start so he replaced the IPR valve, and the pic and the dummy plug and stand pipe. Doing the air test via the ICP hole I can hear air going through the rail and it also sounds like something is clicking but I can't find any air leaking.
Excellent video! All around with the diagram, wiring locations, procedures, explanations, troubleshooting. Everything. Just a good solid very helpful informative video 👍. I have a 2013 2500 and chasing this same problem only without a volt meter. Might be time to get one.
Great video 👍 been looking for one for ages so i can replace bearings in my 1987 town car,do you have any play in bearings with your wheel on and hands on wheel 6 and 12 o clock moving it up and down?also is there a specified torque for doing it up? thanks
Just pulled my ipr and did my leak down test. I’ve got air leaking on both sides like this one in the video. Mine is a 2003 f350 do the 03’s have dummy plugs? Sorry for the dumb question ha!
Mine ended up being top injector seals and nipple cup orings. Got er done. Thank goodness not the hpop I paid to have replaced when I broke down out of state a few months back. Thanks for sharing your process. Helps folks like me.
I am very familiar with Panther cars (Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town car) and I can say with confidence that the passenger floor pan most likely rusted out from pooled water coming from a deteriorated cowl air inlet seal. When they dry up (and they always due) it's best to remove the air inlet cowl and reseal it with Permatex gasket maker. Once that's done you'll never have to worry about water leaking from that cowl seal ever again.
Nice video 👍 I have a 2019 Ram 2500 with the 6.7L… I installed the banks air intake and now get the P0402 code due to the extra airflow… Seems like it’s a known issue on forums etc but do you have any thoughts or ideas on that problem? I’ll be calling banks tomorrow morning. Thanks 👍
Did you happen to hear anything back about the intake situation? I got a P0402 code today and used my I dash to reset it once I got home without an issue after.
Yeah I called banks and they are working on a fix for the issue… they have a fix for the duramax but not the Cummins yet… The technician assured me that nothing would be harmed on the truck by just letting the code sit there so at this time I’ve left it but unfortunately my remote start doesn’t work due to the check engine light being on (which is normal)… I installed the RAM intake and boost tubes as well and I’m really enjoying the truck👍👍
OK thanks. A bit too far from Florida 😅. I was having a few intermittent problems starting the truck for a while. It's a 98 1/2, 24 Valve. Then for the first time it finally shut off while driving. Now it's dead. So I'll check the codes. It does have a new Fass lift pump. I'm thinking it may be the vp44 pump. It has about 220 k miles. If so, I'm sure I can change it myself. Who sells the best vp44 pump? I would rather pay more for a good quality pump than having to do over again. Thoroughbred Diesel any better than others?
P.D.R No Lift pump Air Dog 150 BUT wair do i get one of these check valves whats the name or brand the hole thing dosent make a lot of sence when i go out first thing in the morning it fires right up then the rest of the day hit an miss may not do it all day then oooppssss ....its kinda weired .. dident do it till i did the pushrod cover witch ment taking off the VP-44 truck runs real strong ollll balck betty got 100 over injectors very happy .. pulls my camper no horses any more miss them thank you Pro diesel R
My 300 honda fourtrax is killing my battery even thought its a brand new battery the cdi box is good the rectifier is good dont known if the stator is bad someone tested it a few weeks ago it worked fine any suggestions
2003 E350 owner here…same issue “fixed”: 1) absolutely no replacement part (entire pedal assembly) to be found…obsolete part. 2) disconnected harness from IVS at accelerator pedal. 3) tapped into 2 harness wires to IVS close to the accelerator pedal and mounted a toggle switch on dash (also a 10A fuse) 4) at “key on” toggle switch must be off (open). 5) start engine, then toggle switch on (closed) 6) perfection 7) the IVS is just a normally open momentary switch, but it is not available by itself, only as part of the pedal assembly 8) the assembly (at least for the E350) is an obsolete part and is not available 9) looking now to see if i can get the pedal assembly for the F350 and scavenge the IVS from that and put in the E350 10) this toggle switch solution may be a rudimentary anti-theft switch…just leave the switch “off” and the thief would never have pedal.
