We had our Drupal 7 website converted to Backdrop and it is a very inferior solution. Our site is a multi-author politics and environment one, where people go to an article and click on the author's name to see what else that author has written. Unfortunately, Backdrop removed all links to authors from the articles. It turns out that Backdrop is simply incapable of having a link to an author's name and articles. Our site has thousands of articles and we are not able to go back one by one and, say, put links to authors in the tags. Another thing with Backdrop is that we cannot find anyone to manage the updates. We do not have the time or the background to develop that expertise ourselves. So, what was proposed as a good solution to the end of Drupal, has turned out to be just another problem for us. We would love to try another solution, using a competent builder - since the firm that initially converted the site from Drupal was not satisfactory. It is also problematic that so many website builders don't seem to understand the importance of non-commercial alternative news sites and are oriented to commercial sites and fleeting new styles. If someone could solve the author link problem in Backdrop, that would be a real help.
Shouldn't there be a breakpoint for devices mediaQuery: all and (max-width: 479.98px) or whatever your smallest "min--width" has been set to? I think even the smallest devices are impacted the most be delivering to big image files, thus a really small "fallback" (xs) style might be needed.
Thanks, Scott. We've been investing in website personalization for years. I loved the segment on testimonials. We use GeoFli to personalize content based on location. For example: someone visiting a client site from California see different testimonials than someone from New York. Check it out for your next presentation :)
Amazing video Can you please give an insight video on Drupal Profile as you mentioned in the video? So that we can copy configurations to another site?
This was an awesome talk, I didn't expect to finish it even though I am not a programmer. I have a question if I may ask, I want to study programming soon in a pretty serious matter, do you sir have a recommendation? a certain school or university or something? I know that it is out of the scope of the talk. However, you encouraged us to ask in the comments in the end of your talk. Many thanks in advance.
So Justin, could you elaborate a bit on whether this is something one would use INSTEAD of Layout Builder or in conjunction with Layout Builder? There's a lot of overlap in the intended functionality of Layout Builder and the Layout Builder initiative and a lot folks who have gone 'all in' with LB may be apprehensive of using a solution that is 1) not using LB and 2) Based on Paragraphs and not Blocks. What advice would you give a developer or team in that situation?
Thank you for such a great webinar! Where could i find the one about "an approach to accessible web projects"? I dont see them under your webinars section. TIA!
Thanks for video! Valuable information, topic-example ratio is perfect, it helps to understand info but maybe try to get rid of those little drumrolls, shame, vote and etc. stuff - would be a bit more professional. Keep it up!
Your presentations are great, and much appreciated. Exactly what I'm looking for content-wise (about to migrate a massive D7 site to D9, looking at options for various admin UX features). Only request might be to tidy up the audio levels on future presentations. It's clear, but quiet. Thanks so much for the efforts, appreciated.
